  1. Looks like it keeps back building over NW Philly.
  2. I was unable to get an accurate total of last night's rain, but I was getting 3.60" rates per hour and it was coming down like that for 30-40 minutes. Ponding in the basement this morning, I've got the dehumidifier running down there. 75F/DP 74.
  3. Tacked on another .05" this morning. Looks like another line forming to the west of Agnes and Kamu.
  4. Ended up with .77" today, temp down to 73F. Two good storms in two days. Can we make it a hat trick tomorrow?
  5. You would think. I'm a little surprised at how unenthusiastic the models are for later today. Doesn't mean they're right, especially when it comes to convection.
  6. Ended up with .60". I think this is the first rain I've gotten since Fay. Car windows steamed up, 73F/DP 73 … disgusting!
  7. Pretty good storm here, plenty of thunder & lightning. Already picked up .40" with more to come. Temp down to 73F.
  8. Agreed, Hale-Bopp is the gold standard I'll measure all comets against. Halley's was a disappointment as was Kohoutek in 1973. I remember looking for it in the backyard as a 6-year old, but I don't think we found it. Still would like to experience a total eclipse (will have to plan a trip for that) and view a supernova.
  9. Was under some clouds for a bit that kept temps in check, but now up to 87F as noon approaches. Dipped down to a bone chilling 79F overnight. I did manage to see the comet Saturday evening using an 8" Dobsonian, but I think binoculars would work too. Still no crickets or katydids.
  10. You’re both ahead of me. No katydids or crickets here yet. I’m going comet hunting tonight and tomorrow (clear skies permitting), I’ll keep my ears open.
  11. I was out in the yard this morning, not bad at all with the high clouds and breeze. Enjoy it while it lasts, incoming summer of azz! 81F/ DP 67
  12. Picked up .20" overnight. Despite all the recent rain, the ground is not soggy and my sump pump wells are dry. I'm sure there was a lot of run off on Friday, but just goes to show how dry it's been -- the lawn soaked up the rain like a sponge.
  13. I think we have an X-File on our hands.
  14. Hearing cicadas this morning and there's a dead mouse on the driveway. Other than that, 78F/DP 66.
  15. From what I read, the males don't have stingers. And while the females do, they have no interest in going after people. But yeah, they are vicious looking!
  16. Saw my first cicada bee this morning but still haven't heard any cicadas. That sucker is going to starve!
  17. 3.51" for a total. That should keep the lawn green for another week. Marginal risk today, more storms later?
  18. 3.36", just some leftover snizzle now.
  19. Moderate to occasionally heavy rain here. Approaching .50" at noon. Impressive little storm. Makes you wonder what Fay might have been capable of if this were 9/10 instead.
  20. Rain shield is on the doorstep. Got a mow in yesterday, so bring on the rains! 75F/ DP 72
  21. Tacked on another .13" last evening for a grand total of .15". 68F/DP 67.
  22. I'm still at 0.02" for the day, but looks like the first significant blob of the day is about to move in.
  23. So parts of Philly picked up more than 4 feet of snow and I got a passing flurry or two.
  24. Dark skies, thunder, wind...not a drop of rain! But I did shave off 10 degrees, now down to 83F.
