  1. I know it's going to get hot & humid again, but I don't recall a nice stretch of weather like we're about to have the last couple of Augusts. Maybe it's a sign we'll have autumn this year before Halloween. 79F/DP 67
  2. It's actually not hot for a change, 65F/ DP 64. .40" of rain so far.
  3. You know things are bad when a 71 DP is an improvement 82F/70 DP here...refreshing!
  4. Picked up a quick 1.45" in an hour this morning. My neighbor's trash can washed up on my lawn. Really hoping that's it for rain today!
  5. Got a cell right overhead, raining pretty hard. 73F/DP 72.
  6. No rain here yet, not sure if I'll get any as the short range models keep everything to my SE. Still, it's rather dark with a rumble or two in the distance. Temp went from 90F earlier down to 82F.
  7. I don't understand why bears hibernate in the winter. This is the time of year to do it! 86F/DP 75!!!
  8. I never considered myself to be a hoarder, but after cleaning out the crawl space this weekend from Isaias, I think it maybe time to look into a 12-step program. 78F/DP 72
  9. Wow, some of those rain totals/rates are just crazy...and on top of Isaias! Fortunately only 0.55” here. Anymore rain and our area will be the new Atlantis.
  10. Gave my AC a small break this morning but it's going back on now. Getting a bit uncomfortable with the sun poking out, 78F/68DP. Picked up 0.08" this morning. Heard the same loud boomer as Birds.
  11. I think we only need 3 drops of rain at this point for creeks and rivers to overflow their banks again Not the worst morning out there. Got the AC off and windows open. 68F/DP 64.
  12. Haha...right! And not watch local news!
  13. Full sun and everything outside is dry. If you slept all day and were just waking up now, you'd have no idea what tore through the region today.
  14. Hope it's nothing serious! But yes, not something you want to experience.
  15. Haha...yeah! With everything else going haywire, I still have power.
  16. 6.64". Water is finally receding, but the house smells like heating oil. Oh, and I just lost a tree. Got calls into a water restoration co., my heating co. and now I need to call my tree guy.
  17. 6.30" inches of rain. My creek left it's banks and made it into my garage, basement and crawl space. I've been here 17 years and the creek never got close to the house before.
  18. 2.56" so far. Already have some water in the basement
  19. Fortunately I've been working from home since March. If you can swing it, I would. As you said, it would be a good idea to keep an eye on the house. And I'm guessing things could be a bit dicey for several hours on the roads tomorrow.
  20. Awesome looking anvil off to my NW. Looks like the Allentown area is taking it on the chin again.
  21. I remember getting out of work early for Floyd. I thought it was ridiculous—it’s rain, not snow. But I wasn’t going to argue about being sent home. Then I got out on the roads and my (at the time) 15-20 minute commute took close to an hour with all the road closures. I did debate taking a walk but decided against it. Not so much for the rain but the wind—I didn’t want a branch or power line coming down on me. Anyway, this afternoon’s Euro was interesting. To my untrained eye it looks like it keeps Isaias rather consolidated so we only get heavy rains west of I-95 and not biblical rains. Still plenty of time, nothings set in stone.
  22. 90F/DP 77 Got stuff up and off the basement floor in anticipation.
  23. Why do they assign hurricane names that nobody knows how to pronounce?? 87F/DP 65
  24. Nothing more than a T here so far. I heard last night's storm pass by to my south -- some thunder, lightning and wind gusts, but that was about it. 74F/DP 70.
  25. Also heard my first crickets and katydids last night. Now the countdown to the first frost begins to kill them off!
