    Posted this in the Pittsburgh thread, is anyone here having major issues with the new dualpol radar on the nws site.

    Man, not sure how I feel about the new radar on the NWS site. I can't seem to get it to even load on my chromebook, and can not get it to really loop.

    Oh, also I’d assume this is our biggest December storm since 92...do we remember what happened in March of that season??? Just saying....

    They are in moon, and it makes sense as west was going to have lower totals. If you look at beaver county which they are close to they are in line with that. They are in a good spot to measure totals though and I feel do a good job. I know DC folks are usually howling about their totals at DCA as I’ve seen that Cory get like 24-30 inches but officially they end up with like 15-18.

    Pretty sure I had between 10-12 inches in Ross. Really a great storm and the euro really nailed the CCB kicking back into us. The GFS was literally horrendous with this storm.

    This sort of stuff is usually reserved for the east coast in bombing cyclones or LES bands.

    Honestly, these are the types of storms we have been missing here. Obviously the 15+ inch storms are rare but the 8-12 inch type events our climo says we should get those every few winters....and we just haven't. I know if we got one of these every couple years it sure would make me less irritated when we fringe and get 3 inches.

    Looks like the Euro truly is king. Yeah, it did back off a bit, but it was showing these 10-14 inch totals while the GFS was showing 4.

    Watching the penndot traffic cams...I'm seeing people slide off the roads, stuck, not sure why you would be out unless you had to be tonight.

    I literally don't believe it...the radar is filling back in south of Pittsburgh. We might hit a foot.

    Only regret is that this wasn't a week later. WOuld have been perfect.

    Radar returns are filling back in, and as the temp is dropping now getting better ratios.

    I feel bad for the CPA folks. They are getting dryslotted and getting the WTOD.

    Agree. This isn't one of those snows for 14 hours to get us 5 inches. This is snow at 1-2 per hour for 3 hours which is much better.

    Heaviest returns moving out, but I probably got an inch in the last 30 minutes.

    Radar is literally exploding pittsburgh north and west.

    Some of us are going to hit 10 inches for sure. Deform band looks like it might be setting up just west and north of the city.
