I literally don't believe it...the radar is filling back in south of Pittsburgh. We might hit a foot.

Only regret is that this wasn't a week later. WOuld have been perfect.

Radar returns are filling back in, and as the temp is dropping now getting better ratios.

Honestly, one of my favorite storms as a kid was one where we had heavy sleet for like 6-8 hours. Best sled riding I ever had. Then flipped to very heavy snow for the last 2-3 hours. Always wondered what I would have got if it stayed all snow.

I feel bad for the CPA folks. They are getting dryslotted and getting the WTOD.

As an area that has a TON of experience with overrunning, the mix line is almost universally significantly north of what is modeled. We've had times that we were supposed to stay all snow and the mix line would end up pushing north of 80 towards Erie. My experience is that unfortunately warm air always wins...the warm tongue of death is what we call it out here. @MAG5035 Not sure it is really similar to our overrunning event issues we always have, but I always assume a mix line is going to end up 50 miles + north.

Agree. This isn't one of those snows for 14 hours to get us 5 inches. This is snow at 1-2 per hour for 3 hours which is much better.

Heaviest returns moving out, but I probably got an inch in the last 30 minutes.

Can confirm that band in PIttsburgh is ripping.

Radar is literally exploding pittsburgh north and west.

I was ready to cliff jump last night but we are getting pretty crushed out here. Some of us are probably going to break the 10 inch mark. Looks like a deform band might be forming just west of the city.

If anyone wants to bump troll me feel free....might do it to myself.

Awesome in the north hills. Would say 3-4 and coming down fast. Roads are a disaster.

That band is here and is ripping in the north hills. Glad I have a 5 minute drive home only.

Radar returns aren’t great in the north hills but it is snowing moderately here. Can’t wait to see what it’s like under those darker green and yellow returns. Kpit updated their discussion and are forecasting a period of inch per hour rates now.

One thing I love about this city is to can be 10 miles from the city but it looks like you live in the country. Can’t say that about a lot of bigger cities.

There I also a thin but intense band about to push through.

Lol...but what does the 700 closing indicate?

I don’t think we have much more than an inch, but the banding set up much better on the east side of the city.

Can any experts give me a now cast as to what is going on? For us out this way all the models have made a significant qpf bump after cutting back last night. Someone said the 700mb low closed off and tat was not modeled? what does it mean?

Thanks for posting because for us in western pa this is a massive expansion west of Heavier precip.
