  1. Wide range of amounts across southern CT; seeing some decent totals further south than you in the latest OKX PNS
  2. 7.0 inches... ongoing light snow. 25 degrees; Lots of blowing and drifting; bare ground to 2-ft drifts..
  3. I would not use it for my official measurement, but my Stratus tube usually is a fair first estimate... Lots of blowing and drifting always makes it tough here
  4. Wind ripping across the Burlington area... PXL_20230228_092751297.TS.mp4
  5. Agree... While I still sometimes anxiously await the arrival of the Euro, I'm getting pretty comfortable dealing with the combo of the GFS & mesos.
  6. Ahead tonight's / Tuesday event, ice continues to hang tough in the high terrain areas of western Hartford County...
  7. I do not like the "+" without text explaining what it means... Whenever I've used a + sign I will state exactly what I am trying to convey; 4 to 6+ most areas will be in the 4 to 6 inch range but there could be a couple of small pockets that reach 6 to 7 inch range. I rarely do it, but if I do, I always explain it... 4 to 6+ may allow folks to think you are thinking 10 inches...
  8. Agree... I always like the high terrain areas of western Fairfield County in these setups...
  9. Looking at just under an inch so far here in Burlington...
  10. One of our most mid-winter days of the year in western CT... Steady light snow, 17 degrees and all roads covered...
  11. Yep... We were actually pretty geared up for at least scattered events here and adjacent towns. Our high elevations that were locked in solid ice normally would roar, but not this time. DPW guys were calling asking when +40 mph gusts would arrive... They never did!
  12. It was surprisingly uneventful here in Burlington... We had great ice, but mostly bending birches... Best damage appeared to run from Tolland Cty south and east into parts of New London City... My peak wind was only 35 mph... I would normally popped 45 mph in similar setups...
  13. Was following that... Nasty... Ice accumulation can be so amazing, unfortunately heavy icing leads to big headaches and heartbreak.
  14. Last of today's ice pics... Blades of my Rainwise anemometer covered in ice with ice extending outward... Every blade of grass encased in ice and nice ice fan emanating from one of my snow stakes...
  15. I used to come up to this spot to snap pics of lightning, ice and measure snow for years. Once the lot went up for sale, I jumped on it...
  16. It gets better; in the summer when horses are out in the field and they are haying the fields bordering our property... I usually sit on the patio, chew on a piece of straw and spit a lot... lol
  17. Lol... You're right... Has that open prairie look! Sitting at 1140' with lots of open old farm land...
  18. Yep... At 1140' here; once down the street a bit to 700 much less impressive
  19. Icy easy facing window panes; no ice on adjacent (left side of pic) window panes facing north... Kind of neat...
