  2. Severe thunderstorm warning just issued on that line segment heading into SW Mass and far NW CT.
  3. Agree, timing just seems a little off. We're kind of trying to catch a falling knife. That said, this is the best look we've had for severe all summer so we just roll with it.
  4. 3000-3500 SBCAPE, 1500-2000 MLCAPE in CT per mesoanalysis. Should be primed for some good stuff today if you're right. Let's destabilize more.
  5. The thing I worry about today is some pity storm popping, going messy, and stabilizing things for the other convection
  6. Interesting given the two separate MDs, but I suppose the couple tornadoes line covers it.
  7. 80 dew in Long Island? I thought we only saw that in the cornfields of Iowa.
  8. Dews gone wild here. New Haven with a HI of 99 at noon lol.
  9. Agree. Another MD issued for the severe part of the threat.
  10. Looking specifically at CT, mesoanalysis is not bad. We have a ribbon of 2500 SBCAPE across the state and between 1000-1500 MLCAPE currently. Lapse rates meh.
  11. This thread is going to be funny if people wake up and get frustrated as the clouds fail to dissipate and LFOs walk back from their strongly worded morning discussions.
  12. The kind of talk from the forecast offices usually makes me want to run in the opposite direction, but honest to God even on my trips out to the Midwest people are watching and waiting to see if severe ingredients come together for an active day. We’ll just have to watch the trends I guess.
  13. Looking at things tonight, I’m a little more intrigued for tomorrow. Let’s see what the setup looks like in the morning. Agree with wiz that we could see an enhanced risk somewhere tomorrow.
  14. Wiz swinging a baseball bat through his monitor at 2pm tomorrow as we get gusty showers in CT and Greenfield gets an EF-3 ripping through forest and farmland.
  15. Well yeah, in any given backyard you can probably bank on fail out here but the setup looks good, especially north. I’m lukewarm overall, but tomorrow and Saturday are legit on paper. Tomorrow feels a little conditional to me based on what kind of cloud debris and capping we get down here, but it looks fine generally 18 hours or so out.
  16. I’m just extra salty today. With nearly 11” of precipitation in July and two FF events imby this month, it’s been anything but boring.
  17. No different than tropical and increasingly…”winter” in SNE lol
  18. High of 88.2° here. Meh on heat, meh on severe tomorrow. At least solar production has come back nicely despite an extremely wet month here.
  19. Looks like the bulk of the activity is pike north on the guidance. Pretty good BOX discussion this morning.
