  1. I think they did and the north shore of NS really took some big winds. I’m getting the strongest winds yet here because it’s coming off the bay now after center passage to my east.
  2. Morning survey. Strongest winds are here now.
  3. I think that’s going to end up right. Very impressive storm, maybe even a benchmark for Canada, but not sure how destructive inland winds have been yet. 1938 literally wiped out millions of trees. Surge and wave damage looks high end. I’m getting it good here but other places are getting obliterated along the surge prone coastline. Water is almost always the headliner.
  4. Yikes. Glad I stayed away from the surge zone. Winds have picked up substantially on the back side here. Recorded a minimum pressure 941.9mb.
  5. Power out but I’m ok. Just got back from a local survey and will post pics when I can. Center missed but I recorded a low pressure of 941.9mb. Henry Island over hurricane force again. Not getting that here but the winds are picking up substantially.
  6. Power out but I’m ok. Just got back from a local survey and will post pics when I can. Center missed but I recorded a low pressure of 941.9mb. Henry Island over hurricane force again. Not getting that here but the winds are picking up substantially.
  7. It’s going to be really ugly across the region in the morning and we still have the backside to deal with here. Numerous stations are offline after hurricane force gusts.
  8. Guysborough down to 939.4. That should set the all-time record.
  9. Nah, not a disappointment. I think the wind can produce nicely once it shifts W or SW tomorrow, and it produced tonight with some big gusts. Just west of me on Henry Island recorded hurricane force gusts. I don't think we're getting into the 920s but the 940mb record is certainly within reach. Guysburough, which is about 45 miles to my south has a pressure of 946 and the center isn't onshore yet. Places with a more northerly or easterly fetch are getting it good right now, but western Cape Breton should get backside love tomorrow afternoon.
  10. Wind has backed off here other than a spot gust. Now waiting to see how close to the center I get. Pressure down in the 958 range now.
  11. Aside from some spot gusts, the wind has died down considerably. Pressure down to 959. Now we wait to see how close I get to the center. The wind on the back side of this should be impressive here as the vector changes to something across the bay.
  12. That power pole directly ahead is swaying pretty good right now in these gusts. They're nasty ones. This is impressive for sure and it's not a great wind vector.
  13. 965mb here Power is flickering and now out for the external lights across the street.
  14. It’s pretty impressive here. Pressure down to 965 with hotel rattling wind gusts. Henry Island to my west getting 70kt gusts.
  15. Getting some good gusts here. Power flickered not too long ago.
  16. It has really picked up here. Wind gusts are right around TS force and the power flickered.
