After last season in SNE, the first storm that fails at short range will require governors to call in the national guard. We’ve had some very good second half/backloaded winters in the last decade, those two standing above the others. I still don’t really expect things to go here in earnest until after mid-January, but if we can get to near normal Jan 15-Mar 15 that’s a win.

If it’s not a cat 3 running from New Haven to Quebec City expect audible yawns from the crowd here. Don't worry though we’ll write up 75 pages of breathless excitement, anxiety, and melts for a 1-3” clipper in early December.

I just like that we’re not torching through November. Of course, we could flip for December but seeing some solid cold around Canada and our region gives me some hope it’s not a disastrous December.

And for the tropical watchers I’d just be wary of the GFS. Environment looks conducive but the GFS has a well documented false positive signal for Caribbean development.

I think 5+ for something like a monthly average is a torch but agree that daily anomalies 10+ is torchy.

Of all four seasons, winter stands head and shoulders above the others as the dumbest. Exactly. It could be warm but that doesn’t mean the whole month or season would be lost. All we need are legitimate windows. There were virtually none last year. Here at least.

I think you want more consistent cold. Nature is resilient. I’m just hoping for something closer to normal. Tired of the torches. DJFM. Name a fanbase that isn’t at each other’s throats after their team starts the season 0-4 lol.

I wouldn’t go that low. I do think the SNE areas that had a horrific last year are BN snow but much better off than recent years.
