Can’t imagine life without her…incessant complaining about snow

Nothing nearly as dramatic, but I first started chasing during a period of uncertainty in my life in DC. Went to Portland for a blizzard, and just fell in love with the peace and awe that came with going to experience high end wx events. It has evolved a lot for me since then, but chasing is part of my DNA now. So much so that my wife (who hates wx) has come along a couple times to support. There’s just nothing like it, as dangerous as it can be sometimes.

Nice wx is nice, but boring. Nothing wrong with 75/45 in April, 85/55 in July, or 70 in October. Stretches of that are fine, but if I wanted months upon months of it I’d move to San Diego. I’m fine seeing them from a safe distance in the Midwest, but seriously, there’s nothing like witnessing/experiencing the power of nature—human impacts aside.

Big is the only way to live. Unless it’s a damaging tornado through my backyard or house getting flooded out/washed away I want it all. Big snow, big wind, big rain, big heat, big cold, big hail, big ice. Bring it.

Lived in DC, went to Ocean City to chase. Was one of the most grueling walks of my life trying to get to @ers-wxman1. Ton of fun.

If it's going to be fall in January, we might as well call back the NHC to issue advisories on Hurricane Arlene as it rapidly intensifies into a Cat 4...and runs up the Bay. Do those bring snow?
