  1. I think the reality is with these mega conferences that have formed (namely the SEC, Big 10, ACC being the largest) is that you’re going to have uneven SOS even within conference play. it’s the formula for someone like UGA having the #1 SOS but then Texas other than their h2h didn’t really play the other heavy hitters (and dodges then next year too). we saw similar with Indiana’s schedule in the big 10. Ohio States penalty for losing to Michigan? Still getting a 1st round home game, rest this week not being in the conference champ game, and a locked up playoff spot. im a big proponent of playing either 1 extra conference game or no extra games before the playoff. With these large conferences a championship game creates a lack of congruence for the committee. And there’s always going to be a question for the 3/4 place teams in the power conferences about the CFP. Can one team play themself out of position in a champ game? Id say possibly, while another can’t “play in” not playing.
  2. They definitely did, still are. I was in Ft Richie/Pen Mar at about 5PM and they had 4”+ without being on the highest tops. Cascade down through the ridges near Wolfsville are still getting some good stuff, bet there’s several 6+ out there.
  3. Snowing nicely, still 32 here. Now that it’s dark, with these decent rates it’s adding to the totals. radar says it should continue still for a bit.
  4. Pen mar has to have 5”. I drove to Cascade and ft Ritchie and it was a bonafide snowstorm feel with wind blown SN and 30.
  5. Concur on the crazy differences. Rain, 35 and green grass in Taneytown, emmittsburg, the state line even to the intersection of 16/116. My house is up near 900 feet in the hood and roads are just partially snow covered and grass is covered.
  6. Was saying in the CPA thread at the base of liberty and Carroll valley building it is rain snow mix and wet grass. I live not even 2 miles from there and we have almost complete coverage on grass, roads snow covered/slushy and over 1.5” accums
  7. Insane honestly. Bottom of the neighborhood wet grass and rain snow mix. 2 miles from there at my house probably 1.5” at least and roads pretty snow covered.
  8. I know what you meant, just inspiring hope
  9. To help your cause, it decided to snow in November today
  10. can confirm the 2-2.5” in the above box, just took it for a loop. Good grass coverage off deep run.
  11. Familiar with that area, since we used to live in Westminster and also had family on 482. You mean you don’t want me getting shot?
  12. What’s some closer roads of reference nearby I might see similar accums? Driving from Hanover and may check things out at the state border.
  13. Got me interested so checked out the site, next is the barracks becoming some overnight accommodations and small stores. Good to see them really focused on the efforts. we do some of the events there with the kids, they put together decent stuff around the holidays.
  14. @Eskimo Joe didn’t realize they also just opened “Top Secret Brewery,” a taproom at Ft Ritchie
  15. I knew they’d get crushed and radar last night and the overnight looked great. When I was up in WBS & Hazleton they had gotten off to a nice start.
  16. If the stuff over state college blowing up continues SE, the Catoctins will be a great spot in the next few hours.
  17. There is, Greenhouse Cafe, good coffee and sandwiches. Theres also Chocolate Park Tavern for a beer or if you want to eat some decent pizza from the car, a Rocky’s is right across the street
  18. was just at 2k feet in Pen Mar, not much different than the house in Carroll Valley, rated even up here aren’t sufficient for any substantial accumulation beyond 1/2” or so
  19. Agreed, blue ridge summit to Cascade to sabillasville always a good spot for these.
  20. Timing is everything it seems. Slower low and some of the features have = colder runs temp wise. This looked best as a Black Friday event, it has moved up 12/24 hours on guidance.
