  1. I was checking out webcams of the Buffalo area. Looks like some nice-sized flakes coming down.
  2. Today was definitely a transition day here. Temperature dropping during the day with occasional grauple showers. Hoping for a couple inches of synoptic snowfall tomorrow, and then more from lake effect. Looks like you Buffalo folks are going to get in on the.snow bands. Enjoy!
  3. It will be interesting this weekend as I experience my first legit lake effect event here on the Tug. 6 to 8 inch range here right now.
  4. That would be a nice front end thump. BUF did change the snow forecast maps to just include tomorrow. Several inches area wide. What model or program do they use to produce those maps?
  5. Hey, we have had mostly 30s and 40s for highs the past 3 weeks with rain almost every day....just eager to see something other than Seattle weather.
  6. Just like the other cold shots and lake effect opportunities so far this fall, this one is looking less exciting with every discussion.
  7. I am lloving the look for this weekend and next week in these parts. Time to work in the rain this week to get the plows and other equipment ready!
  8. Hey, all. Down here in Hamburg area of Berks county for my brother's wedding this weekend. Tornado warning last night, and gusty winds today. Not the best hair day for wedding pictures!
  9. It's been cloudy and rainy here on the Tug almost every day since the beginning of September. My wife bought some daylight bulbs for our lamps in the house. Definitely a cloudy place! When we go into Syracuse or Pulaski the sun will be shining and then when we turn around and come back you can see the clouds forming and sitting over the Tug.
  10. I like the looks of those runs for our area, wolfie!
  11. I just moved to Redfield this summer. So there are a couple of us in the belt. So far, not impressed at all with NW flow in this area...
  12. Interesting...somewhere in the middle of those two would be great. For tonight, it looks like a lake effect band is forming just to our south and will be coming north.
  13. Teenzie weenzie teenie weenie itty bitty snowflakes falling here.
  14. Very well said. I think the majority of rational people think similarly.
  15. The fact that NOAA only uses ENSO for winter forecasts seems ridiculous to me. They are weather professionals, yet seem to ignore the many different factors that affect a season.
  16. Had snow showers up here on the Tug yesterday. Slipped on ice at noon today...and lake effect snow expected this weekend. Winter is coming!
  17. Checking out BGM NWS on FB this morning...some areas in the hills around Cortland got a couple inches. An individual posted the pic below.
  18. Hey, wolfie...looks like a nice area of snow has formed over you. Looks to be moving this way. Had some nice snow showers between 6:30 and 8 as well. How is everyone else faring?
  19. Currently in the midst of A heavy graupel shower here. It has been doing this throughout the day. Hoping for snowflakes by this evening!
  20. Had my first snowflakes of the season this morning.
  21. Hey, all. Went with my wife to the Berkshires this weekend and was not impressed with color at all from here in the Tug the whole way to western Massachusetts. Seems like many trees have just dropped their leaves with not much color or the colors are dull oranges. Mt. Greylock had the best color...which was hard to see because of dense fog as we drove up it.
  22. Saw my first snowflakes of the season this morning here on the Tug. My wife and I were coming home from a short ttrip to the Berkshires. When we got to Utica, it was in the mid 40s with drizzle. On the other side of Rome, in Taberg, it was raining and upper 30s. Snowflakes started mixing in once we got to Florence and continued up here in Redfield with temps in the mid 30s.
  23. I am thinking I will see my first snowflakes of the season this upcoming week here on the Tug. At least I am hoping...
