  1. Or shall I say, last decade...AND this one... lol
  2. The GFS in the long range is a train wreck. Cutter after cutter. We need the Pacific pattern to slow down, the stupid SE ridge to go away, and some sort of blocking in the Atlantic. I wonder if this is the new winter pattern we are going to endure for years. Pretty much regardless of indices, this is what it has looked like for many winters this decade.
  3. So...basically the system over the weekend is an amped up system that gives us rain, or it is a whiff to the south with some snow showers...or ain/snow mix.
  4. Happy New Year, all. May we get bombarded by some great snowfall and Upper 20s for highs the next couple months!
  5. Isn't it sad that I woke up thinking about the possibility of snow next week...and then thought, "Eh, it won't matter. It will melt in a couple days..." That is a NOVEMBER attitude...not what I should have to be thinking for JANUARY.
  6. Yep...watch all those purples disappear...now that I am here! lol
  7. The best part of not getting all the lake effect tonight and tomorrow is NOT having to watch it melt with this next thaw coming Thursday through Saturday.
  8. It snowed...there is snow on the ground in the Syracuse area. We, however, in extreme northern Onondaga and southern Oswego got screwed...yet again.
  9. Apparently Baldwinsville got the screwover...because checking out thruway cams, it looks like the Syracuse exits have snow on the ground.
  10. Nope, don't think I am going to even get a dusting...That was even expecting too much. On to Sunday!
  11. After the front rolled through, we just had flurries...now getting some nice big flakes coming down. Might still be able to manage a dusting...
  12. Yeah not impressed...chunks of ice, then a gust of wind...and now light snow. Sorry, Syracuse. It's my fault.
  13. Have you guys checked out the radar? There is a narrow band coming. THAT is the front....there will be snow with it.
  14. There is so much standing water. I went up to Fulton today and found that there was even less snow up there than here. We have snow piles remaining all over here with some snow in ditches. There weren't even many snow piles up in Fulton. This showery stuff seems to be forming in front of the front. The squall is regaining some strength now, so maybe we end up with a dusting. Since it is later in the day, maybe it would even survive for tonight?
  15. That's because it is a developing secondary. What you see there is the remnant warmth of the primary. The secondary would pull colder air down. But, we know how these dying out primaries/developing secondaries have worked out for us recently....
  16. Wow, would you look at that...the squall line is splitting apart...just in time for Syracuse......…………. lol....I hope to see snowflakes again for the first time in two weeks.
  17. I was at my parents' house in Danville all last week and also noticed some fresh greens coming through their flower beds. Pretty soon palm trees will be growing there with the ridiculously lame winters of late...
  18. Thanks, you too. You going to Cali for skiing? Big Bear?
  19. I hoped you heeded our warnings that it would end up disappointing you. This reminds me of my winters growing up in Lancaster, PA.
  20. I hope you get clobbered with snow this week, Wolfie.
  21. GFS shows the cold finally coming in next week...but very dry. Storms are cut off. haha Then...at the end of the week...a cutter. We can't afford to have anything dig right now. SE ridge pushes up every time.
  22. Cutters and absent lake effect snows are really going to put us behind over the next 1 to 2 weeks, if not longer. I would rather have consistent snowfalls than a big event surrounded by thaws.
