  1. Oh, yes...I remember it well. You saw way more snow hit from that event during your short visit than I saw from any event during the entire winter in Redfield! Nah, I'm not bitter...
  2. Bummer! It's just about on my doorstep. Time to go for a walk!
  3. Looks like ROC is about to get a nice burst of snow.
  4. Between 3 and 4 inches of new snowfall here today. Nice snowpack. Hopefully some of it lasts the thaw!
  5. So far this year, most of the minimal lake effect snow events have been centered over the West-central portion of the county around Camillus to Solvay...which is the area I would expect to get the least LES in the Syracuse area.
  6. Winters of this decade... Every system this year so far has ended up farther north than forecasted as well. If in doubt this decade...it's wagons north.
  7. I ruined it for SYR when I put my address here...……………………….. lol
  8. Here's my skeptical call for Lake effect in Onondaga county. Band stays north of us all night...then as the wind shirts northwesterly, it transitions and sets up to our south over the hills. I doubt we even see an inch. Freak looks to be getting in on some good action...or he's very close to it. Surprised he hasn't stopped in.
  9. Thanks for the response. Looks like we have some more opportunities coming up this week to pick up some more snow. Then a punch of warm air early next week...then perhaps more snow showers next week.
  10. Are we getting major downsloping from the Tug or Adirondacks, woflie? It has been this stupid dry slot all day!
  11. It's always something. If we hadn't mixed yesterday...and these dry slots weren't so persistent...and the temperature was colder...we'd have quite a lot of snow. Oh, well. Still a solid snow pack down now...get some nights in the 20s and it should freeze up pretty good.
  12. It looks like it just keeps running through a strainer. Tries coming west, but just falls apart. About 10 inches of HEAVY, wet snow here. 4 inches from yesterday, and 6 inches from overnight. Mostly flurries with a few bursts of snow all morning. Snow is definitely compacting already.
  13. What is up with this dry wedge in the Syracuse/Northern Finger Lakes area? Persistent...while it snows all around. I know I am partially to blame...lol
  14. Wise choice. It sure is fun to watch the radar right now though with all the different motion in bands. Wolfie and those Kuchera maps...…………………………..
  15. If it snows like this all night, I can see us easily hitting the 1 foot mark here. Time for me to stop looking at models, and look out the window at what's actually falling, and enjoy!
  16. Looks like precipitation is starting to blossom on radar. I am curious as to why short term models are discrediting it.
  17. HRRR and RAP both show Syracuse area getting missed to the South by most snow. Screw job number 3 for the season.
  18. Good discussion. Radar to me looks weak as well. Things pulling off quickly to the east.
  19. Sort of like how the HRRR is showing us only getting 3 more inches? Color me shocked...
  20. You're probably right. It will probably redevelop too late for us to get to a foot. Models may show it....but I am skeptical, just as I was about us staying all snow. I am slowly learning to just accept that it rarely works out.
  21. I arrived home to a 4 to 5 inch snow/ice pack north of Bville. It is heavy.... snowblower was struggling with the plowed stuff at the end of driveway. Already a huge pile there with how sleet/snowpack mounds up.
  22. 13 cars in the ditches so far from one side of Rochester to the other side on the Thruway...
