Canadian looks to be developing a giant cutter through the Midwest next weekend as well. Bahaha. We'll see if it has it sliding east once it hits a certain latitude.
He said his neighbors were mowing their grass this past weekend....in CT...in January!
Somehow, there are still some snowpiles that have survived here over the past several weeks...
All of the 00Z runs are coming in looking like garbage. Tomorrow looking less impressive.
NAM and GFS have us lucky to get 2 inches on Saturday. lol
This winter it is look at THE worst, and go with the WORST possible solution. Lots more burgers than weenies.
Yeah, that is what ALL of the lake effect events (what piddly ones we have had) have been so far. Camillus, Skan, SW Onondaga county. I have also been secretly hoping. Bville seems to be close enough to get involved...just not be the jackpot.
HRRR doesn't seem overly impressive with snow totals. I thought it did pretty good with Lake effect? Maybe it's not as good at picking up on enhancement events? It is one of the models I'm least familiar with.
Yeah, tomorrow looks like a hybrid/enhancement event. These are some of my favorite, as they can really pack some surprises.
Might get more tomorrow than the weekend!
Yeah, I saw talk of it in another subforum earlier this evening...OHWeather did a much better job of explaining it.
Weren't the EPS, for days, consistently showing a solid pattern change?
Wow...so basically true winter comes at the very end of January, we get 3 weeks of winter, and then we go back to warm later in February...or maaaaaybe hold on longer?
Woopty doody freakin do.
If we can get the ground covered with several inches on Thursday, it would make whatever happens over the weekend more tolerable. I don't think it will get warm enough Saturday to ruin much snowpack. Odds look excellent for at least snowcover by this time next week.
