  1. ROC and BUF are doing better than the Cuse so far... lol
  2. Hey, just saying...as somebody who already drives above the speed limit, I can't stand people, who no matter what speed you drive, feel the need to ride your bumper. I feel more unsafe around those people than old grandma in the front. However, usually old grandma in the front leads to a tailgater up the butt...and then it gets annoying and unsafe for more people. Which, is why, logically, I agree with you...as driving within the speed limit reduces that nonsense. I just hope I never get in front of you when I'm already speeding.
  3. I'd rather have a cautious driver around me than a dingbat roaring up peoples' butts and swerving around people because they think they're invincible. I agree 30 seems pretty slow, but it is what it is.
  4. Moisture looks to be winning the battle with the dry air at the moment. Secondary is definitely beginning to take over with radar filling in over many areas here and down in the Mid-Atlantic.
  5. Yes! It also melts niiiiiice and sllloooowly! Nice! I lived in DuBois for several years and still go back several times a year to visit family and friends. It has been quite some time since Clearfield/Jefferson counties have been hit really well.
  6. We're not there yet. It's still developing. We need to watch the radar a few hours from now.
  7. I have been watching the Nexrad radar on the COD site. I can see how the heavier bands moving up from the south keep forcing their way through the dry air. One band moves through...dry air pushes south...another band moves through...repeat. Just give it up already, dry air! It's been snowing at a nice, moderate rate here for some time now.
  8. Aw, man. I grew up in Lancaster county, PA. Sleet capital of the nation. Sleet during the Blizzard of 93...even had some sleet mix in during the Blizzard of 96. I think that warm air rushes up over the Chesepeake and just screws it up.
  9. Thinking the same! It immediately started laying here...and we even had a light covering from the other day still!
  10. Snow didn't have much trouble getting going here. Started as some flurries around 4 and then quickly shifted into a light to at times moderate snowfall. Flake size isn't ideal, but it's not the tiny rice snow either. There a few good dendrites mixed in.
  11. When you compare the EURO to its previous runs, it has made marked move north.
  12. Yes. If the models are overdoing the dry air, we could do much better. May be tough those, as dry air has ruined many a good system.
  13. Oh...lots of practice with that already..."thanks lake effect bands"
  14. I think people have talked about this before...6Z and 18Z runs seem to initialize differently from the 00Z and 12Z. I have noticed 6Z and 18Z have been more north than the 0Z and 12Z runs.
  15. lol...perhaps we should start a forum poll on what the new name should be????
  16. Hah! I tried, but it said I couldn't! It said it had been changed too recently. Perhaps I'll change it to Yoursnowisdoomed!Matt
  17. I'd love to be not on "the line" for once... haha I warned you guys...it's the legend of my weather curse. When I moved to West Michigan, they were breaking "warmest ever" records as well. lol Climate Change and me make one powerful team.
  18. I think the biggest snowstorm I've experienced during my time in Upstate New York was in November 2018 when we had something like a 10 inch snowstorm in Redfield. Pretty lame.
  19. Several of the models seem to be also working towards the GFS in creating a pocket of lesser totals pushing into Oswego County/on my doorstep while to the west they do better. It's Tug Hill laughing at the lowlanders as downsloping eats away at the snow.
  20. Wow, a couple of these 00Z models keep me hopeful. Still no clarity even as we get closer. GFS finally has us getting an inch or so here. haha Sticking with 3 to 6 inches...3 inches if we just get a general light snow with decent ratios...6 is possible, as there are often some surprise bands on the NW side of these systems.
  21. Lol! I was thinking the same thing, but refrained.
  22. My colleagues sat down at my table during our Staff Christmas party this evening and complained about "how COLD it was outside." I did a good job at not rolling my eyes.
  23. Now, can we get it to lock in for a while? I know you've been pretty optimistic about having a few weeks of good winter after Christmas into January.
  24. I think we may need to take our inch or two of snow (if that?) that we get the next couple days and enjoy them before they melt away quickly when the temps hit the 40s again over the weekend. lol
  25. Your zone and up through the Finger Lakes and Central NY can't seem to buy a solid snowstorm these days. It does sting a bit with years of cutters and then getting whiffed to the south and east. I think you guys may even be ahead of us in the snow department this winter?
