  1. Syrmax and CNY are going to wake up to quite a surprise this morning.
  2. It looks like the southern edge of the band is taking a slight shift south. Getting a good burst at the moment. Hopefully I'm just about IN this thing. It may take one more tug north though before it settles in.
  3. I'm just outside Radisson in Lysander. My guess is Great Northern is already getting clobbered.
  4. Thanks! You may have enough snow now to survive this week's warmup. I am hoping for the same here. Would love to get a layer of ice on top of it Wednesday night to preserve it.
  5. Hopefully that little pocket out in Wayne county that is forming is the start of a slight wind shift for me to join in.
  6. I want to go out for a middle of the night Jebwalk in heavy snow. I am getting bursts of snow and then clear skies. Like half an inch on the ground. lol WHY ME????
  7. Congrats on your snow. I was checking out the Central Square webcam and did a doubletake when I noticed the snow depth reaching the 1 foot mark on the snowstick. I sure wish it would nudge south and west a bit. I've been waiting for hours and hours.
  8. The fact that this band continues to TROLL me and sit just to my north and east.....arggghhhh....grrrrrrrrrrrr I expect it to fully sweep through here quickly and give me an inch or two. I need to move to a hill top.
  9. It's torture waiting for a lake effect band to move in...especially because you don't know if it's going to make a surprise turn or fall apart right before it hits you.
  10. The 01Z HRRR actually looks fantastic for my area...showing 8 to 12 inches. Obviously doubt that...
  11. Looks like this first band has already hit its southern point. Just a few flurries here. Yaaaaaaaawn. You can see the bands already retreating to the north. Hope the band forms on the WNW flow overnight...otherwise, it's another loss here.
  12. I see you and Syrmax "like" this. Hmmm...I haven't observed the term "cough" -warministas- "cough" thrown around on here lately.... (remember back in the 2000s anytime somebody mentioned a "warm up" they had that term slung at them?!?! lol) Still, I turn my nose up at you warministas.
  13. Both 18Z NAMs are also showing colder air seeping in from the Northeast on Thursday and precip being a bit slower to move out. As a result, they're trying to show us change over to a nice little burst of snow. Sometimes these waves along these transitory fronts can come with nice surprises.
  14. The faux -NAO appears to block it from moving this way. Our global weather pattern needs exactly what our government needs: A full reset.
  15. Debatable... you're in denial. I know I whine...when I catch myself I try to apologize. I don't think it's fair to say it's all I do. I like to have meteorological and funny, light-hearted discussion on here too. There's no question I've been extremely disappointed with the 3 winters (2.5) that I've lived in Upstate NY. They've sucked relative to average for the locations I am in.
  16. I really hope your favored LES model is wrong this time.
  17. Lol...yup! I do think we are in the process of heading into a better pattern but the models are struggling with it.
  18. It looks more like a W wind flow on the Rgem. Looks awful for the Cuse. Syracuse Snow shield activated? The only thing we do well is warm above expected highs.
  19. Totally agree! I love clipper patterns! Like you said, winds blowing cold air over those lakes from different directions...snowpack almost always looks fresh with continued snowfall...and then you can get a day or two of crisp, bright sunshine..and be at peace knowing the next clipper will be coming the next day to freshen everything up again. Oh, how I LOVED the winter of 13-14!
  20. YES, PLEASE. I think the last good clipper pattern I can remember was either...12--13 or 13-14?
  21. Yep. Syracuse has only had 32% of our normal snowfall to date. When you look at all the locations on there, it's obviously been a really tough start here compared to many other locales in the U.S.
