The amount of disrespect you guys show to anybody who supports Trump is disgusting. You've made it quite clear on post after post that you hate Trump and that you want him out. I have several issues with Trump AND Biden...and I will not be saying anything obnoxious or disrespectful about either of them on here. What? Posting endless tirades about it on your Personal Facebook pages wasn't enough? How about starting a new banter topic? I knew I should have stayed out of this banter thread. Maybe I'll start a new one that has NOTHING to do with politics, as I want to have interactions with you guys on here that aren't politically toxic crapola.

I'm required to wear a mask and/or shield for work...normally I wear my shield outside at recess. The one day this week, I chose to wore my mask. I was playing tag with the kiddos and holy cow, I could not breathe. I had to stand way far back from anybody and take the mask off for a moment just to get fresh air. The masks certainly do block molecules (at least some) from traveling through! I think I'll continue primarily using the shield...although on the colder days we have gone out, the second I step outside it becomes a fogged up mess. I need some windshield wipers attached to it.

My community here has been put in the yellow as well. Our staff meeting will be an interesting one tomorrow when we are asked who is willing to get tested. With it being done every week, I can't see any way of anybody avoiding being tested over the next couple weeks.

The wife and I are going there next weekend to celebrate our 13th anniversary. Hoping for some fall colors to remain there and at our B&B in the Finger Lakes.

So maaaybe once a year or once every couple years?

Snow days in NYC? What are those? Local school here has a couple students that tested positive and the school is now closing for in-person teaching. Wondering if I'll be back to online teaching by October...

Wow! Looks like we'll stay nestled in our apartment until at least our contract ends at the end of February. Who knows what things will look like then...Well, probably January, because the landlords will be pushing to know what we're doing...:P

Perhaps it's not always thinking it's a conspiracy, but a wise decision to not accept the gazilliions of "science" informational bits that are being presented with nothing but guesses. I think it's smart to not just jump on some "theory" when the science has literally been changing week to week. That's where it IS becoming politicized...to push the agenda through.

I'm so sorry to hear this, BW. So many are either losing their jobs or those that are working, are working their butts off to exhaustion.

Interesting that Fulton's is the highest. I know it's one of the more populated areas of the county....I wonder how much of it is impacted by commuters to the Syracuse area, or if more people in Fulton are ignoring guidelines. Perhaps the poorer health of people in the community?

The YMCA here in Baldwinsville...is on strictly reserved usage. You can make reservations to use the track, basketball courts and pool and they are doing "live stream classes" but I look forward to being able to actually go and use the facilities again. It is a very popular, newer Y, so I imagine it may be difficult to get a "slot" when they do open back up at a minimum capacity.

Did you end up finding one, or are did you decide to wait until things calm down a bit?

Aw, I am so sorry and saddened to hear this. Is this related to her cancer journey or something else? I am a man of prayer and will be praying for peace and comfort for you and your family during this tough time. Good point! I know you definitely enjoy life. It's all in balance. I make some sacrifices to work at a job that I love but don't get paid very well...so money is not as readily available to spend on big things. My wife, being an amazing saver, finds it more challenging to get out and spend money on fun things. Some of that deals with her past of growing up in poverty though.

If FB Marketplace was an actual indicator of price drops or increases, I would say prices have gone WAAAAAY up....lol Scrolling through this weekend, I was surprised at how many things were being sold like JUST under their original sales price. I think this is an indicator though of just how many people may be selling things to try and make ends meet.

Indeed! It's almost like a sale at a store where they say, "It's only $....." and then putting in tiny wording discussing taxes. So a person forgets about that. We need a big poster alongside these unemployment checks saying, "$300!!! But deduct some from that because of TAX."

You can. I am skeptical of some Americans being responsible enough in doing so...or they will choose not to just so they can find a way to be "saved" when tax season comes.

Interesting discussion, guys. My wife works for an accounting firm and yesterday we were talking about the taxation of these unemployment checks. Without a doubt, people are going to spend their total income from these checks, and not put anything aside for when tax season comes. What will we do then? Print more money and bail them out??? Although it won't fix human greed, America needs to do a much better job at teaching its citizens, at a younger age, budgeting strategies. We spend, spend, spend...but so many don't know how to budget, save, and work with what they have. Sure, we need cash flow...but it needs to be cycled in a more responsible manner.

I want to apologize for the lack of compassion I showed in my post yesterday. I know this has been a rough time for many. I battle in myself being joyful that people who are downtrodden are being taken care of vs. being frustrated with those who take advantage of everybody and everything (of which I have no control over). Peace.

Ok, this conversation is irksome. First off, there are jobs available. Easier to sit around and get money then go apply for jobs and actually work for a paycheck. Second, there are people who work their butts off and don't make 600 bucks a week. Perhaps people need to start prioritizing and cutting things out that they realistically can't afford. Ohhhh, that's right....people can be irresponsible and selfish with their money and then get "bailed out" for it...while other hard-working people have to pay for the stupidity and idiocy of others.

No problem! I know I saw on the News reports that all of Onondaga county was walloped.
