About 6.5" here including what fell this morning. I don't think we got a single pellet of sleet here. Snow is dense but pretty plush and no slush or crust.

I don't think anyone could have predicted you and I getting the same totals out of an early season system like this.

Close to 5" now, radar and current obs say we never see sleet here and just shut off to some light snow or freezing drizzle.

That is usually not a gamble in this type of set up. Cold storm relative to climo and mid-levels were slow to torch.

The instant winter thing is a little surreal to be honest. I noticed lot of people, including myself, scrambling with various yard pick up chores the past 2 days.

Well yeah that was on another scale. This will be epic Nov event for S of Pike and coastal crowd but will be equal to or maybe a little better than Nov 2014 for a lot of us.

You can see the dry slot ripping N through E NY. I would be psyched if we had 4" of snow, dry slot and just a light fzra coating. It will be so much easier to clear in the morning than rain on sleet on snow.

3.25" here and dense, I just threw a couple of shovels full. I think S of Pike is going to be the big overachievers. I fear once that ML warming starts ripping N the pingers will advance too quickly for areas N of RT 2 to play catch up. We'll see, either way we will easily reach the low end our zone forecast of 4-8" so any personal disappointments wont necessarily mean a forecast bust. Great early season event regardless.
