  1. US news outlets have no interest in Atlantic Canada. it's boring. It will be a slow process getting everybody online as it will be a street by street effort. At one point 80% of Nova Scotia was without power. I can't imagine there are much more than 50k people on PEI. New Brunswick has a lot of customers out as well.
  2. At the end of the run the GFS wants to take out the rest of the Bahamas!
  3. 1) Blizzard of 78 (I was 10 and school was cancelled for a week!) 2) April Fool s 97 (Awesomeness!) 3) January 2005 Blizzard (30"+ in Cambridge) 4) October 2011 Snow Storm (Freak storm) 5) Hurricane Irene (Western New England flooding was surreal) Runner up: Feb 2013 I've had several personal severe weather episodes that have been personally mind blowing but were isolated so I went with the historic stuff.
  4. We actually ended up with a nice 30 minutes of rain and .10" when I expected partly cloudy.
  5. We definitely have stressed maples starting to turn and swamp maples already flipping in Franklin Co. I'm feeling a somewhat short but explosive foliage fireworks this year in NW MA.
  6. My relatives are up off the water but it is starting to look bigger than Juan at this point.
  7. Not sure how susceptible Halifax Harbor is to surge? I would guess the big issue is downed trees because there are so many big beautiful trees in the Halifax-Dartmouth area, never mind the outskirts. Probably looking at a few days without power but not too much structural damage. I know folks in Yarmouth, Sable River, Lunenburg and Halifax.
  8. Yeah, I'm not psyched for my in-laws right now, they are going into buckle down mode.
  9. Good luck! My sister in law and family are in Dartmouth so I'll try to stay in touch with them and get pictures if they can.
  10. There is a thrift store next to where I work and I just got a $2, mint copy of "Path of Furry" a pictoral history of the 6/01/11 tornado.
  11. It's been a pretty dry summer here but we have had way more garden slugs than I have ever seen.
  12. Sooo many wasps and yellow jackets everywhere this year.
  13. Not enough to drag him back into the forum, gonna' need a spinna' to do that.
  14. It went a bit meh' as it got here but pretty good downpour and 3 minutes of pretty intense wind. oddly no thunder. @Ginx snewx
  15. Nice, you know! They are one of the few and I have been on that Pumpkin team in the past. Meanwhile, pretty awesome day and evening. Late summer goodness.
  16. No! Very few breweries actually use pumpkin in their "pumpkin beers". Big pain in the ass and our brewer would never use an extract.
  17. Where has DIT been? Did I miss something?
  18. Those of us in the beer business disagree.
