  1. I dunno' man, weird dynamics, less than a mile N of my house and only 100' higher there is 1" of snow, downtown Greenfield at 150' lower than my house has at least .5" and I have just a trace. wtf?
  2. It's not worth losing sleep over, at least the pattern is still looking active. It is always possible to sneak wintery events in, even with the Alaskan pork special on the menu.
  3. "November snows bring December woes."
  4. We tend to burn wood from whenever we get home until dawn on weekdays and then all day weekends if we're here. During real cold snaps I try to keep it going all day. My goal is usually to use less than one tank of oil from Dec - March. I generally get by on 2.5 cords a winter with one in reserve. We were house poor when we got the wood stove so we couldn't afford a modern but we lucked out and got an almost unused 1977 Vermont Castings for $400. The thing is a beast an a bit oversized for our 1400' sq/ft but it heats the house easily, even when it is below zero out. When we can afford it I would like to modernize to something a little more efficient and cleaner. Also have a small Jotul in the basement for when power goes out or if I'm working down there but that only gets lit about 10x a winter.
  5. In MA and CT, W of the CT River is very different than points E as 'Berg and I can attest. Big winters for Tolland and ORH sometimes mean jack sh*t for the W of the River folks but who cares? Nobody lives here anyway. I'll take SWFE patterns anytime over Miller B nonesense.
  6. For reals? Interesting, maybe part of current climo for the Northeast?
  7. Too many Shirley Temple egg nogs?
  8. I wasn't just bustin' but it is pretty humorous how many years have a pre-Christmas warm up.
  9. Isn't that pretty much expected every year?
  10. I spent better part of an hour reading comments on the R/beer thread on this hot mess and there were a bunch of horror stories emerging from current and former employees of other breweries. Trillium is not the only brewery with some questionable practices. Either way, I'm kind over the $5 cans of palate killing, haze bombs. Lots of other great beer styles out there. Plus, what I pay for a case of TH or similar buys me a real nice bottle of bourbon that lasts me a lot longer.
  11. 18/6 currently. Cold morning incoming, frozen ponds, on Thanksgiving in SNE, is something I have only seen a few times in my 50 years.
  12. Added .50" as today's event but it's really the low ball total of yesterday and today, I was just feeling lazy. a conservative 8.5" so far, nice late Nov!
  13. Even the highest elevations yesterday got no more than an inch or so.
  14. That squall line earlier helped make up for getting porked yesterday.. True whiteout for about 10 minutes.
  15. The armory building in the background is only a few hundred feet from the brewery and is pretty fuzzy.
  16. Mostly sunny and a delightful 42F here.
  17. There was zero accumulation from Northampton to Brattleboro under 1000 feet. CTRV at it's finest.
