    I think he is 4 years old, he and I go back to when he was a cub. His mother is a giant! I have not seen her or the yearlings this year and don’t want to. I have some pretty incredible footage of three generations of bears in our back wetland from May 2019. I’ll get it up on YouTube sometime in the near future and post it. My MA DEP friend lost her mind when she saw it.

    I think it’s time to break out the bottle rockets. This dude is patrolling the neighborhood daily now. Yes, I know it’s a dude from some of the more detailed photos I have.

    The co-op will have alchemist, burlington beer, upper pass, frost, lost nation and more!

    If you go I-91 stop at Brattleboro Co-op, they have a beast selection of VT beers. Brick and Feather in Turners Falls is awesome. Peoples Pint in Greenfield (I work at their brewery) but only open for pick up Wednesday to Saturday right now, probably same for brick and feather.

    Same in Western Massachusetts. Rents from Northampton to Greenfield or Brattleboro are moving steadily up, which is terrible news for all of the poor and under employed folks who have lived here for a long time. Wehave a small two bedroom house on 3 acres and it’s gone up about 8k on Zillow in the past two months. I would rather not have my towns assessed value of my house move up, I pay enough property tax as it is.

    You don’t want to be as far north as MPM was because that takes you out of quick striking distance to Northampton etc. Cummington, Goshen, Conway, Chesterfield are all rural but a little closer to civilization. Lots of houses at elevation with good snow.

    No question that is a lion. I know a retired DCR officer from Greenfield who told me the state knew of at least 2 different Catamounts in the Charlemont/Savoy area of W MA but he said the state nor feds would ever admit to it. That was probably 8 or 9 years ago I had that conversation.

    When is that from? That sure as hell ain't no Bobcat or Lynx. I probably know a dozen people in W MA and S VT that swear they have seen a Catamount.

    That's a great peak! Last time I was up there we got nicked by some severe that definitely made it a full on adventure.

I am trying to keep him fully updated to any whether he should be aware of. ”OK group weather mind, I have a very dear friend, solo paddling the Connecticut River from end to end and he will be coming through Northern New England this week.
