  1. I guess S of the Pike has had the torch this year. Honestly, it has felt like a warm, dry, slightly above normal summer here. Perhaps the lack of humidity has me unimpressed? I am pretty mank sensitive and really have not had too use the A/C that much. Electric bill running way short of last summer.
  2. We are missing all of the precipitation this summer complete opposite of last summer. I'll take it as long as we can get the QPF in the winter...
  3. 8 -10 white face bites put me in the emergency room a couple of summers ago. I hit a nest on mowing and it felt like burning embers shooting into my shins, at first I thought maybe the lawnmower was throwing sparks. After about 30 minutes it was insane burning and itching in my lymphatic areas and my face started to swell up. Sitting in the emergency room it started to get worse and worse and the staff kept telling me they were still nine people ahead of me in line so finally I told my wife to just tell them I was having chest pain's. They wheeled me in immediately LOL They jammed a harpoon of epinephrine into my thigh, I thought my heart was going to explode, Now I have an EpiPen prescription. The funny thing is I had had plenty of stings over the years something about the wfh really made me react poorly. Fortunately I have not seen wfh in a few years but I'm still pretty cautious around Yellowjackets.
  4. I find this all really interesting because it's really only been on the warm side of a normal summer here. Many of the hot days have been tolerable humidity so I guess that helps. There are no accurate long term records for this part of the state but I bet we have been no more than a +2 - +2.5 for July.
  5. We got porked here. I have to check but I believe I am under 2" for the month of July.
  6. When you watch the long loop it's like Franklin Co had a force field up the way the storms just dissipated as they moved NE. https://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=ENX-N0Q-1-96
  7. Bummer, not a drop of rain in Greenfield.
  8. Looks like that cell south of here is warmed now
  9. Rain and clouds temporarily knocked us down to 78F but should charge right back up when the sun pops back out.

  11. Nice quick soaker moving through now, the garden is happy.
  12. A lot of on and off clouds here today have limited upper end heat potential. So far 91/72 has been the high. A little less comfortable than yesterday for sure but we break tomorrow.
  13. Already 80F in the shade here, DP70. We sweat.
  14. CT has been roasting but NW MA has had some pretty nice warm and dry days with cool nights. It's 78F and bit humid but aren't these the summer nights we cherish?
  15. It's been normal summer here with the expected scattering of hot days. The cool nights have made it seem tolerable. I think I've only had 6 or 7 A/C days so far (far more in the car). This afternoon I'll probably need it.
  16. I don't get to CT or RI beaches very often but Cape Cod certainly has some fantastic white sand beaches.
  17. I hear "ice ages" actually come about relatively fast.
  18. Oh' wow! That's probably never seen a minute of salt water?
  19. We had a nice 15 minute downpour drop .15" The garden approves.
  20. Lawns around here are not exactly thriving right now.
  21. I end up interacting with more than my share of bears for some reason and that is the thickest coat I have ever seen.
  22. Spent the afternoon and evening at a pool party in Munson and it was just just an absolutely perfect summer night.
