  1. We definitely have stressed maples starting to turn and swamp maples already flipping in Franklin Co. I'm feeling a somewhat short but explosive foliage fireworks this year in NW MA.
  2. My relatives are up off the water but it is starting to look bigger than Juan at this point.
  3. Not sure how susceptible Halifax Harbor is to surge? I would guess the big issue is downed trees because there are so many big beautiful trees in the Halifax-Dartmouth area, never mind the outskirts. Probably looking at a few days without power but not too much structural damage. I know folks in Yarmouth, Sable River, Lunenburg and Halifax.
  4. Yeah, I'm not psyched for my in-laws right now, they are going into buckle down mode.
  5. Good luck! My sister in law and family are in Dartmouth so I'll try to stay in touch with them and get pictures if they can.
  6. There is a thrift store next to where I work and I just got a $2, mint copy of "Path of Furry" a pictoral history of the 6/01/11 tornado.
  7. It's been a pretty dry summer here but we have had way more garden slugs than I have ever seen.
  8. Sooo many wasps and yellow jackets everywhere this year.
  9. Not enough to drag him back into the forum, gonna' need a spinna' to do that.
  10. It went a bit meh' as it got here but pretty good downpour and 3 minutes of pretty intense wind. oddly no thunder. @Ginx snewx
  11. Nice, you know! They are one of the few and I have been on that Pumpkin team in the past. Meanwhile, pretty awesome day and evening. Late summer goodness.
  12. No! Very few breweries actually use pumpkin in their "pumpkin beers". Big pain in the ass and our brewer would never use an extract.
  13. Where has DIT been? Did I miss something?
  14. Those of us in the beer business disagree.
  15. You'll make up for the qpf differential this winter.
  16. Greene, RI. Didn't realize Rhode Island got this rural. Just E of Cucumber Hill.
  17. Enjoying an epic Labor Day weekend grilling and chilling with friends on the rural RI/CT border. Not far from Ginx old stomping grounds.
  18. Yeah, I'm in the small, tight, Green River Valley so I radiate very well and have amazing snow retention but I don't have the elevation to cash in. If we were to stay in this area, MPM's old neighborhood up in Shelburne had the elevation and some decent retention and delightfully cool summer temps. However, I think the snow "cash in" zones are probably a bit further East in Shutesbury and Petersham where you can be well over 1000' and still get the coastal deforms. Savoy is pretty awesome as is the area of Heath I had a property offered to me but they still don't make the cut sometimes for many of the major coastals. Yes, of course Savoy has the crazy 2000'+ elevation to be a winter wonderland but that West Quabbin high elevation territory is gold! However, it is also in the middle of nowhere relatively speaking for those who don't work from home and actually need to travel and have kids that enjoy seeing friends.
  19. What's good for Florida may be hell for the Carolina's.
  20. Which 0z are already out? Paid sites I assume?
  21. Canadian High ftw? Although many weenies would be disappointed a full ots miss would be awesome. Partial landfall, slow crawler up the coast would not be so good but better than direct hit of course.
