Yeah, I used to go see them when they were playing the club scene in SNE. Then, I sort of lost interest but a Brewer friend of mine used to supply the beer for their backstage parties so I rode his coattails in for a few of their big arena shows. Their backstage “clinic” was quite the scene to behold. The piano player and the drummer are nice guys the guitar player and the bass player can kind of be pretentious dicks. I was backstage at their 20th anniversary show at Boston Garden with a nice beer buzz. I sat my ass down at a table and talked to these two guys for about 20 minutes. My friends were staring at me the whole time and when I got up they asked me if I knew the folks I was talking to. I said no, I was just being friendly and then they informed me that it was Ben Affleck and Owen Wilson. When I got home I told my wife and she googled pictures of them and I said yup that was them. She then called me a pop-culture oblivious dumb ass. Lol.

Jerry’s solo bands were top-notch. In the mid-70s he was playing with Eric Clapton type skills but with a little bit more acid drenched sound. I saw the Jerry Garcia band a half dozen times between 1988 and 1993. Soulful and sublime.

I am not much of a Phish fan but I have a bunch of their original LPs in my vinyl collection that are worth at least a mortgage payment or two. I had kind of forgotten about them because I bought them so many years ago and then I looked them up on eBay and laughed out loud.

You’ll definitely find a few folks on here that agree with that 6 week winter sentiment.

Lets be clear, wasting December sucks but still lots of time left. The pattern is active but not producing and that gets hard to swallow.

Yea' plenty of time, we just need to dissolve this shredder pattern. I thought for sure all of SNE was getting at least a widespread advisory before Christmas. Live and learn.

You know it's bad, when we are two days out from Christmas and Dave is leading the SNE totals, with a whopping 4" He usually has that much by Thanksgiving.

My birder friends were freaking out about it.

I've always used Atlas or MSR. They are a bit pricey new though. I've been lucky enough to score my snowshoes used over the years.

Low of 17F here. Probably could have hit single digits with snow pack.

I only got .25" My coworker, just W of me at 1000' in Colrain only got about .75" It was over to straight rain here by 4pm even at high elevations. Brutal.

Greenfield was only about .25” before flip to sleet and then rain. That was around 4pm then we took off for Wilbraham where they started as sleet and then rained.

You stole my snow!

My wife is the bigger breadwinner in our house and I asked her if she could line-up a job in coastal Maine for our 60’s onward.

Greenfield got under .5” before the sleet/rain. I am in Springfield now but on the way down it was plain rain by the time we hit Deerfield.

Straight rain now. 33.5F .30” total. That’s even worse than my jaded call for 1-2”. Lol

Over to all sleet here after .30 snow. Maybe we flip back?

Decent burst of snow now but 35/24 so just mood flakes for now. Hopefully we can whiten the ground soon with more than just excessive road salt.
