  1. Might need to wait another week or so in most of New England but pattern looks decent. Congrats CT peeps tomorrow.
  2. A tale of two different yeast strains.
  3. Is it shredded or just a weak SW to begin with?
  4. I can just see it now, distinct possibility that between tomorrow’s storm and next week, the Rt 2 corridor and N will be sitting at < 2” for the seven day period. Plenty of time to change though. I just like to keep my expectations in check.
  5. I wasn’t out here then but I’ve always found that storm pretty hilarious. 4” in Greenfield but 40” if you went 30mi E or W. Perhaps the greatest downsloping of all time for the CRV.
  6. Hey all, have fun! I had to bail, one of our long time Boy Scout troop leaders passed away last night. I’ve got some obligations that are ahead of weather geeking today.
  7. Expectations need to be kept in check by anyone outside of W CT.
  8. I remember driving from Cambridge to my grandmothers house in Mattapan and there was arctic sea smoke coming off Dorchester Bay.
  9. Where is my sunny day as forecast? Cloudy with a light rain shower currently. 44/42
  10. Yeah, this one is continuing last year‘s screw cycle for the Rt 2 corridor and N. Let’s hope the 16th doesn’t get squashed.
  11. 54/52 with misery mist. This weather is a few weeks early.
  12. Yes, the volatility of the pattern wrt to modeling, is why I have sat back and made very few posts the past few weeks. The pattern has snowy potential but everything is subject to change more than 3 - 4 days out. We wait. I have no doubt the interior sees a decent even before NYE.
  13. Living in W MA I don't get to Sugarloaf or Rangely much anymore but it is some of the best skiing and hiking in the Northeast. I used to spend a lot of time in the Carrabassett Valley and met some of the most friendly people there and still keep in touch with a few. You are correct though, Sugarloaf is the best April skiing in the East and is a joy to hang out at apres ski. There is something about that mountain and the people there that has always been close to my heart. That view from when you round the corner on Rt-27 from Kingfield!
  14. It's a fantastic mountain with mediocre lift capacity. It can be brutally cold in W Maine and that gondola was key in late Dec and Jan. There used to be a T-bar running from mid-mountain that was great because nobody used it and it was out of the wind.
  15. FTX was most likely also a "laundromat". The problem is there are legit and useful crypto projects and then a lot of swindle shitcoin projects and platforms.
  16. I haven't skied it yet but my brother says that new Bracket Basin area of Sugarloaf is pretty amazing terrain.
  17. 24/18 at midnight. Pretty much right on for December in NW MA.
  18. 78 is a little bit more of a nod to a classic English pub beer. But yeah, so many of the available packaged stouts are laden with lactose, chocolate, coffee and other adjuncts. A straight Oatmeal Stout or Porter is tough to find these days in the stores. There are still breweries making them but most package stores don't carry them or they are only available on premise at the breweries. It might be time to bring back the beer thread...
  19. Nice example of a British Brown ale. Hop heads rule the roost so not many breweries actually packaging those anymore. Smuttynose Old Brown Dog is also a nice brown ale that’s widely available. Peoples Pint Farmer Brown is similar but a hint richer. Only really available in W MA though.
  20. Meh'. Pattern has lots of storminess and the cold will eventually work out with regards to timing.
  21. A 2-0 deficit in World Cup feels like a 14-0 deficit in NFL playoffs. Not impossible to overcome but not an enviable position to be in.
