    I grew up swimming and sailing on Buzzards Bay. By the end of August it can be like bathwater. The bay heats up more efficiently and holds the heat longer. As a kid I remember people saying there’s a side branch of gulf stream water that flows into the bay and helps it heat up but I don’t know if that is true or not. I will say this, the beaches in North Falmouth and Cataumet are amazing in September. There is nobody there and the water temperature is still in the 70s.

    Yeah, Chappy and South Cape Beach SP in Mashpee are great. We go to Silver beach because it's close to where my folks live.

    Oddly, as damp as it has been, I’ve seen almost no mosquitoes this year.

    Ya' I'm in the NW corner of Greenfield on the edge of that ridiculousness. The downpours have been insane. Hammering rain again right now.

    He is in Marlboro on Worden Brook and said it is raging.

    Absolute tropical downpours here. Over 3" total since Saturday. Again, almost all of it has come in very short bursts.

    My friend west of Brattleboro said the streams are 3x their normal width.

    It's been rolling thunder here for the past 2 hours with occasional downpours.

    Greenfield has had over 2.5" of rain since Friday and it has maybe rained for 5-6 total hours in that time frame. When it has rained it has poured. The weekend forecast for Green River Festival was dire but except for 2 hours yesterday, the entire 3 day festival was rain free! All of the rain was late at night or early morning.
