  1. Great Barrington is nice. Close to Butternut Basin and not too far from Jiminy Peak and Catamount Berkshire East is the best ski mountain in W MA but there is nothing near it. If you are looking for cultural stuff to do check out Naumkeag or drive up to Mass Moca in N Adams.
  2. Marvin Hagler would run on the beach in work boots with a rope around his waist dragging a tire.
  3. I know a Wilmington VT police officer and he said it’s really difficult to get new PD or FD hires because of the lack of affordable housing. All of the new out of state residents have also put a tremendous strain on municipal resources.
  4. Earth is a volatile and often dangerous place for humans to live but the Northeastern United States is pretty stable, relatively speaking. Sure there are occasional severe thunder storm events and big coastal storms, however, earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, tornadoes, forest fires, severe droughts, ice storms and damaging hail are all pretty rare. But yeah, looks like a fun movie to watch.
  5. Actually, I was living in North Amherst for that storm and had no idea of the totals around me until I saw a friend from Shutesbury the next day. I didn’t believe him when he claimed he had gotten close to 30 inches up at 1200’
  6. Wow, that looks like an absolute toaster bath for the Connecticut River Valley.
  7. Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties all have a gas moratorium in place from Berkshire gas. You cannot open a new business that requires gas service nor can you upgrade to a bigger system if you are an established business. It’s absolutely nuts. i’m not sure about new residential.
  8. Yeah, Greenfield had about an hour of moderate to heavy rain around 8 PM. Still plenty of epic foliage around though even though some trees are now bare.
  9. Clouds cleared and it’s a spectacular late afternoon. Foliage is going nuclear right now. One of the best foliage seasons I’ve ever seen.
  10. Gorgeous! I’m going out to take some pictures tomorrow, we are just hitting peak.
  11. 1.5” overnight. Currently 58F cloudy. Some heavy downpours but no wind so foliage didn’t take much of a hit out here. This will be peak weekend for The Valley.
  12. Definitely some heavy rain winners. Pouring here again. No wind.
  13. In W MA now but I grew up in Inman Sq. Caught 78, 97 and 2005 in the city. It can be a really fun place for snow if you are patient. lol. Truth be told, Jan 2005 rivaled all the great snowstorms in the Cambridge/Somerville area. 34" with 6' drifts.
  14. Over 1" now. It's been 3 hours of light to moderate rain with intermittent tropical downpours.
  15. Ya’ Ari cooks everything from scratch. That place is a Hilltown gem!
  16. Nothing screams mid-October like 62° and torrential rain.
  17. Canned yesterday and delivered today!
  18. Let’s see how it all plays out. I could see Cape Ann and parts of Coastal Maine getting some good gusts. Everyone else? TBD
  19. I think the winds will disappoint anybody in Western New England.
  20. 62/58 off a high of 65° interesting day. Greenfield was pretty tropical with off and on five minute downpours. I was out in the Quabbin Hilltowns for work and it was partly sunny and dry. Petersham is definitely a good weather weenie town. That town center is at high elevation and some nice open views to the East. Wendell town center is also pretty cool.
  21. Light to moderate pine needles reducing visibility.
  22. Eastern SNE losing their foliage before the leaves even reach peak! Was hoping for a dry morning but it’s been off and on showers in the valley since 8 AM.
  23. The rain will definitely cause some leaf shedding but there should still be decent foliage this weekend and next week in most of SNE.
