  1. 65° with heavy mist and a warm wind. Tropical.
  2. I don't get invested in Autumn snows until the Canadian is showing them.
  3. That was a statement game by Houston tonight. Dialed in.
  4. It looks like the western areas should be dry most of Sunday.
  5. Oh’ is it mandatory for state employees in Massachusetts?
  6. Yeah, I think all three doctors at that practice are giving the same advice. His feeling is people who had recent Covid have way more antibodies than boosters will give you.
  7. Yesterday my PC told me if I am contemplating a booster I should now wait three or four months. Said having Covid now will give me enough immunity through mid winter.
  8. They have changed those guidelines. Now they’re saying people can go back to work, masked, five days after a positive test as long as symptoms are not acute. Doctor also told me Covid is everywhere around here it’s just not reflected in state numbers because nobody goes to official testing sites anymore.
  9. In non-weather news I am on day three of Covid. Very odd experience. 24 hours of a slight scratchy throat and then waves of heavy fatigue, chills and headache. No congestion, no fever still have taste and smell just want to sleep a lot which I have been doing. It certainly has not been pleasant but I am doing OK and I’m about to take the dog on a walk in the sunshine.
  10. Wait aren’t you the guy that wants it 75° until Thanksgiving before any winter weather? Outside of heating costs I am one of the few posters hear that is fine with deep winter cold even if it doesn’t snow.
  11. Two mornings in a row with a low of 29F here. Three mornings in a row below freezing. I'll take some warmer weather next week, could do without the rain though.
  12. Great Barrington is nice. Close to Butternut Basin and not too far from Jiminy Peak and Catamount Berkshire East is the best ski mountain in W MA but there is nothing near it. If you are looking for cultural stuff to do check out Naumkeag or drive up to Mass Moca in N Adams.
  13. Marvin Hagler would run on the beach in work boots with a rope around his waist dragging a tire.
  14. I know a Wilmington VT police officer and he said it’s really difficult to get new PD or FD hires because of the lack of affordable housing. All of the new out of state residents have also put a tremendous strain on municipal resources.
  15. Earth is a volatile and often dangerous place for humans to live but the Northeastern United States is pretty stable, relatively speaking. Sure there are occasional severe thunder storm events and big coastal storms, however, earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, tornadoes, forest fires, severe droughts, ice storms and damaging hail are all pretty rare. But yeah, looks like a fun movie to watch.
  16. Actually, I was living in North Amherst for that storm and had no idea of the totals around me until I saw a friend from Shutesbury the next day. I didn’t believe him when he claimed he had gotten close to 30 inches up at 1200’
  17. Wow, that looks like an absolute toaster bath for the Connecticut River Valley.
  18. Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties all have a gas moratorium in place from Berkshire gas. You cannot open a new business that requires gas service nor can you upgrade to a bigger system if you are an established business. It’s absolutely nuts. i’m not sure about new residential.
  19. Yeah, Greenfield had about an hour of moderate to heavy rain around 8 PM. Still plenty of epic foliage around though even though some trees are now bare.
  20. Clouds cleared and it’s a spectacular late afternoon. Foliage is going nuclear right now. One of the best foliage seasons I’ve ever seen.
