1.5” overnight. Currently 58F cloudy.
Some heavy downpours but no wind so foliage didn’t take much of a hit out here. This will be peak weekend for The Valley.
In W MA now but I grew up in Inman Sq. Caught 78, 97 and 2005 in the city. It can be a really fun place for snow if you are patient. lol. Truth be told, Jan 2005 rivaled all the great snowstorms in the Cambridge/Somerville area. 34" with 6' drifts.
62/58 off a high of 65°
interesting day. Greenfield was pretty tropical with off and on five minute downpours.
I was out in the Quabbin Hilltowns for work and it was partly sunny and dry.
Petersham is definitely a good weather weenie town. That town center is at high elevation and some nice open views to the East. Wendell town center is also pretty cool.
Eastern SNE losing their foliage before the leaves even reach peak!
Was hoping for a dry morning but it’s been off and on showers in the valley since 8 AM.
Last May my kid yelled “hey dad there’s Bob kittens in the yard!” I went to the window and sure enough two small cats and a mama we’re strolling through our backyard.
It’s not like we live in the middle of nowhere either. There’s big woods out behind our house but plenty of neighbors around us also. That was my sixth or seventh bobcat encounter in the 12 years we have been in the house.
The day after the 2011 October snowstorm I was helping a neighbor find a lost dog and I had a pretty close up cat encounter. I was standing still on a logging road and this thing came trotting down the hill and didn’t see me. Probably got within 40 feet. Pretty nerve-racking actually.
Berkshire East! Fun, family owned, old school New England ski area. Great trails, great people.
Buttetnut Basin and Jiminy Peak are nice too but B’East is kind of special.
Colors are absolutely popping in NW MA. Really spectacular week of foliage shaping up.
So many people were predicting a bad foliage season during the drought and now shaping up to be a top five in my 15 years out here.
