Well, Charlotte did have 2 daily records set in January 1977 that still stand today. Jan 17th of that year saw a record low maximum and a record low minimum of 25 and 5 respectively. Of course the all-time coldest month record still stands.

God forbid that we ever have a strong Nina again.... Look what a negative-neutral one has done. Never thought I would ever see a SER so strong with neutral conditions. If this pattern ever does flip, it should be epic with all the cold that's been bottled up to our northwest.

Score one for the GFS... Nice work, keep it up. By next month, we may have a clearer picture of our "model of choice" in the 6-10 day range.

You have about 4 weeks before Greenland melt will decline quickly (climo). Your "7 weeks" is a stretch.

You'll be that guy that quietly fades into the bushes in a couple of years when your outlandish scenarios don't play out as you would have wished. You'll make some kind of excuse, and then change your screen name and come back for more. I have seen your kind through the years. No one is arguing that the earth hasn't warmed, the argument is how much is natural and how much is man-made. Most of us on this forum know the science (we can read), but we try to temper our thoughts about what will happen next, and use some common sense. Ice-free in 10 years is wish-casting. You have no scientific facts to base that on, other than extrapolation (which doesn't always work) just ask any Met about that.
