Nice win for UVA last night, and in traditional fashion they held on to the last play to win a squeaker. Was not (as 99% of others) expecting an 11-3 season.

Temp bottomed out at 34.1 around 2 am, then did a slow climb as clouds filled in. Currently cloudy at 37.7/35.6 here.

36.3/33.8 at 10:45 pm. Forecast low for the night from NWS is 36....

I'd 100% take that for back this way.

What I loved for that storm was the 'extra' bonus snow we had here. The snow started earlier than forecast late night on the 5th early morning of the 6th and continued thru late afternoon of the 8th. 33.5" fell, 31" OTG when it stopped. Then another 5" fell around the 12th. Had SOG until 19th when 1.81" of RAIN fell melting all the snow (which had 2.15" SWE on 18th) and a monthly high of 62 degrees, leading to massive flooding. Ended month with 6.83" of liquid, 39.2" of snow. Edit, forgot. This was the storm that collapsed part of the warehouse roof at my work on the 8th.

But wouldn't THAT be sweet?

It was a fairly crappy week weather-wise (especially if you wanted whiteness for Christmas), but after the first half of Dec and now 1st half of Jan looking better, I be happy. Super rare we go wall to wall with cold and snow, there's always a warm/dry spell at some point, sadly it was Christmas week this year.

Managed to get a majority of the classic Christmas movies in during the past 48 hours; A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, Miracle On 34th, It's A Wonderful Life and Die Hard.

Interesting night. Went to bed 12:30 am (ish) it was 39.1 degrees, it had barely moved between 39-41 all day and evening. Woke up at 6 am, it was 55.6 degrees. Looked at the graph from overnight, it was 38.4 at 2:50 am, climbed rapidly to 56.7 by 4:35 am.

IDK about that, he posted a couple things about two weeks ago where I even asked who had hijacked his name....

Stayed in upper 40's most of day yesterday, shot up to 57.6 for a high around 2 am. Then a slow drop to 51.2 at 7 am CoCoRaHS report. Currently 53.1/31.7 at 10:15 am, just washed the side (S) and back (W) windows inside and out on the house on Christmas Eve.... sheesh. Least the firewood supply will get a break for a few days.

Ditto here. Had a low below freezing every recording day this month so far.

Low was 18.7 this morning, still barely below freezing at 31.6/17.5 at 10:50 am with mostly cloudy skies.

23.6 for the low here this am. Currently 31.5/22.6 at 9:45 am.

Yes, Happy Anniversary to you both! MAYBE one year you'll (we'll) get a repeat weather-wise. Speaking of, on the weather front. After a small lull/decrease in the winds (down into the 15-25 range) the gusts have returned in last 2 hours into the 40+ range. Currently 33.1/17.8 with NW 17 gust 33 mph at 8:40 pm.

I'll take option one please.

Wow. Had a 54 mph gust a while ago, also had some graupel/sleet/rain about an hour ago. I staked down two 7 ft artificial Christmas trees when I put them up Tuesday, both are on the ground with the stakes pulled out on one side. I'll try again tomorrow, not fighting the wind while trying to redo. Temp down to 38.8/28.7.

0.77" here. Wild day/night. Was stuck near 40 all day with light rain and drizzle, then around midnight temp started to climb to a high of 51.6 around 3 am with a strong squall like storm with 35 mph winds and heavy rain. temp dropping again, now 43.4/34.7 at 7:45 am.
