    Yep, white. Started as all snow here, although it did warm up a bit late overnight. Went to bed a little past 1 am at 28.0/26.3 and currently 32.2/29.8 with moderate snow.

    28.2/26.5 at 11 pm, plenty cold enough for snow.

    Glancing at records for 12/8, Roanoke's top three are 8.0 in 1917, 5.4 in 1976 and 5.1 in 1989. Lynchburg had 3.2 in 1917, 2.8 in 1976 and 3.1 in 1989. Don't think the Roanoke mark is in jeopardy, but Lynchburg's certainly is with 3-5 forecasted now.

    28.5/27.2 at 9:30 here. Although I am one county off from the just issued WSW, I'll take whatever falls. The models have done nothing but increase snowfall with each run it seems.

    And I'm about 20 miles NNW of you. Roll the dice and see what happens! Sitting at 33.0/29.1 at 6 pm after a 47 high. Only patchy snow on north facing areas left from Friday's 5.3".

    Careful! @Terpeast said that and ended up with a kid! All said, that is one heck of a sharp cut-off both north and south. I don't see that robust of a snowfall, cut these in half and I think it is good. And if it does this, guess I'll join you on the shoe deal lol.

    26.5/23.7 with mostly clear skies this am. Lost a good bit of snow with the sunshine and low 40's temps. 4.0 OTG yesterday, 1.0 today, with bare on south facing and 1.5 or so in shaded areas.

    Sun has broken out from behind the clouds and temp has soared to 39.2 degrees at 11:15 am, looks like it is raining in the woods from the snow melting off the trees.

    Not quite as south as Roanoke, but looking back at my records, Dec 2010 was a fun month. 12.6" snow, 19 days of SOG, 13 days with a 'T', 8 days with measurable snow and only 10 days snowless. I'd take a repeat. And yes, it snowed on 24th and 25th here that year, about 3 inches total.

    Yep. Been a while since we've had a snow fall and accumulate on everything and STAY. Usually we end up with 20-30 mph winds after and it all gets blown out/off.

    Two edged sword. It beats down what snow you have on the ground, BUT it has a lot of staying power and is there long after the snow is gone.

    That was a nice workout, shoveled the driveway and sidewalks out. By driveway I mean a paved 10 foot by 1400 foot area, lol. Plus, the sidewalks and stairways. Hasn't crossed freezing all day, currently 30.8/28.3 with a drizzle/snizzle thing falling since the snow stopped around 11 am.
