  1. Was 33.6/15.0 at 7 am, first time above freezing in a week, and only 3rd time this month. 46.0 high yesterday, low was 29.1 around midnight (again) but started up around 2 am as winds picked up.
  2. Another night when the low was reached around midnight then temps climbed. Currently 31.5/25.2 at 8 am after hitting 25.8 around 11:30 pm. I could break thru the snowpack when I walked out to get CoCoRaHS this morning, first time that has happened in weeks. About 1/3 bare to 2/3 snowcover here, running bare to 3 inches in shaded/north facing areas.
  3. 26.6 degrees this morning, MUCH warmer than previous mornings. A bit of snow melted yesterday, should be some more occurring later today.
  4. Only down to 12.1 here this morning. Did top out at 33.4 for a high, first time above freezing in several days.
  5. Few flurries in the air around 5 am here, actually could count the snow grains in the CoCoRaHS gauge (22), lol. On a sad note, managed to break my oldest (18 years old) 4 inch CoCoRaHS gauge on the 'concrete' this morning getting a SWE . Luckily I had three, and wife got me a new one for Christmas, so back to three in use. Weird day yesterday. I clouded over early am and temp was stuck in single digits/low teens until noon, then around 2 pm sun popped out and I soared up to the 31.6 high in like 20-30 minutes. Temp fell back into upper teens before midnight, then rose to mid 20's through rest of night when clouds filled in and winds picked up. Currently 25.1/14.3 and cloudy.
  6. High of 31.6, almost freezing, but not quite. Did get a bit of melting from full sun between 2-4 pm, especially south facing, when temp went from 22-31 in about 10 minutes once we broke out of the clouds. Already down to 28.9/13.0 at 5:30.
  7. So the thing that held me back from below zero is now helping keep it cool. Currently 14.9/3.4 at 11 am with mostly cloudy to cloudy skies. I am JUST into the clouds streaming overhead from SW to NE.
  8. Wait, so from just west of Fredericksburg to 90% of the Delmarva is 100-160% of average??
  9. Canaan NWR making a run at yesterday's -27, currently -24.7 at 7 am.
  10. So, for second consecutive night I flirted with negative numbers, only to be denied, lol. Hit 0.2 around 8:20 am yesterday morning, then again at 2:12 am this morning before starting a slow crawl up the scale. At 7 am it was 4.5/0.0 with some high cirrus (which helped that climb, along with winds turning W/WSW around 3 am).
  11. Just makes you wonder HOW cold it was in that location when the record was set. -27 there this morning. Elkins was -15, Lewisburg -2 and WSS -4. I know you can't correlate exactly, but if all those stations were -28 to -37 on that morning makes you think Canaan would/could have been in -40 to -45 range easy.
  12. LOL, I can relate. Son lived in Breckenridge for a number of years. 30 was WARM. People would be outside eating like nothing was wrong. I visited in June one year, it was decent, upper 30's. There was a pickup football game going on in the field beside his apartment, teams were shirts vs shirtless lol. People get used to what they live in/with over time.
  13. Yes, I've run 5-7 degrees warmer than the forecasted lows for last couple of nights. Actually ran a few degrees colder for highs though, sorta averages out in the end.
  14. Currently 0.6/-2.7 after a 0.3 low, JUST missed negative numbers. Still have a few minutes to see if we can get below zero before the sun gets above the hills. High was 17.0.
  15. Atlanta had a minor 'snowmagedon' this evening....
  16. Currently 12.8/0.9 at 9:45 pm with WNW winds 4 gusting 11 mph. High was 17.0.
  17. I RARELY wear a coat, and when I do it is because of wind, not cold.
  18. -37, Lewisburg in 1917. It was -34 in White Sulphur Springs that morning, about 10 miles away.
  19. Wishing you a full recovery dude!
  20. 16.1/-2.2 at 1:45 pm, warmer than yesterday's high, cloudy skies.
  21. Yes, watching radar it seems to be going a bit further NNE than NE as forecasted. I know the fringe E and NE area will be virga for a bit, but on the line currently tracking I could see Greensboro, Danville, Richmond and Dover being the northern edge of an inch.
  22. LOL, watching Ryan Hall on Youtube with all the snow in TX and LA, crazy.
  23. Currently 5.8/-1.2 with cloudy skies. Low was 2.9 around 3 am, then it slowly climbed once we went cloudy.
