  1. I'm thinking about trying adaptive skiing this Winter. Really miss being able to ski. My problem is getting off the chairlift. Suddenly I have no leg support and fall down. Skiing the trail itself isn't a problem.
  2. It's one of the few safe places to take scenic vista shots. I can't walk/stand/balance my camera at the same time, so my pictures are from my car.
  3. Out tomorrow to Barkhamstead, Tolland MA and Otis. This area was not good last year, so we'll see.
  4. I'm disabled and can't stop wherever I want to. There's plenty of color elsewhere. Most of its in busy locations, or on private property.
  5. Heading to Mount Equinox on Thursday with my son, never been that way for Fall foliage before.
  6. Im Talking about Stafford and Eastford which is peak and about 1-5% bare. Better foliage than last year which was awful. Coventry is about 50-60% changed. Areas around here that had good foliage color last year are rust colored and going Bare.
  7. I drove through Northeastern Connecticut today and the foliage is mostly at peak or slightly past peak. Alot of Oak and Pine compeating with the foliage color. It's a tough area to take foliage pictures in. Heavily forested, lots of private land and few scenic vista's. Upper Bolton Pond, Bolton Connecticut:
  8. Color developing here in Northern Connecticut with the non Oak. Probably peak this upcoming week and early next. Sodom Pond, Somers Connecticut
  9. Actually, in this house it's the opposite. Oil heat downstairs and electric baseboard upstairs. I live upstairs and I can heat each room individually. Going to keep the downstairs at 65F or so.
  10. I'm hoping this Winter isn't overly hard. I'm living alone in a 4 bedroom house and I'm handicapped. This house is about as unfriendly to a handicapped person as possible. Multiple stairs and on a hill.
  11. My dad was sick for a long time and passed away on 7/31. So posting wasn't of much interest. I'm also living alone in the house and it was nice to get away yesterday.
  12. Hurds Lake, Somers Connecticut, with some early foliage color. And Hurds Lake on 10/18/20
  13. Peak foliage color in Southern Vermont yesterday in Londonderry, Bondville and West Dover. It's about 7-10 days behind last year, but better quality. South of the Massachusetts line isn't all that pretty heading home via Route 112 and the Mohawk Trail, Route 2. Surprisingly, the Connecticut River Valley around Brattleboro is near peak. Usually it's green.
  14. I haven't been on here in awhile, but my father has been sick and just passed away today.
  15. Light dusting of snow here after an intense squall moved through.
  16. Light snow here in my part of Enfield. Changed to snow around 2am. Never seen snowfall in May outside of Vermont and Colorado. Currently 34F.
  17. Very little advancement of the leafout here over the last week. 26F here this morning, 14F below normal. Tree's here are still mostly the same as last week. 50% bare, 40% in seed and 10% in flower. Lots of garden Daffodils and Narcissus, about 2 weeks later than normal.
  18. It seems Dr Dewless doesn't approve of sleet observations, not that I care much.
