  2. if you want to have snowy winters from now many of us should consider moving either to the snow belts or northern newengland.. cause it won't be happening like it was the last 20 years in the city and surrounding areas ..
  3. you want brutal cold try 1994 in the midwest you wont see cold like that again barring some event like a super volcano eruption..
  4. remember when we in the city during the winter had many nights in the single digits those days have been gone for a decade or longer..

  10. dorian looked 10 times more intense on satellite..
  11. according to the tropical expert on the weather channel greg postel he said a hour ago the said the storm maxed out already and on satellite looks like it may be weakening shear dry air. etc etc..
  12. in 2005 we had 3 storms from late november into january so anything is possible..but not a cat 5 lol..
  13. according to the weather channel the pressure of zeta has come up to 990 which would indicate weakening while on radar it looks like it is strengthening hmm..

  16. This could be a Cozumel/Cancun strike, yes. And a powerful one at that. I am aggressive on initial maximum intensity by the Yucatán Channel regardless if it strikes the NE Yucatán or skirts through. i remember when hurricane gilbert hit that area of mexico a wind gust was recorded at 218 mph...
  17. we seen a few storms where projected shear near landfall never materialized even though the models said it would happen..
  18. the waters are very warm enough.. this time of year.. even when sally was upwelling the northern gulf it intensified as it made landfall..
  19. what is the odds we go through the entire greek alphabet the way so many storms are forming lol..
  20. a lot of us won't even be around before ice melt becomes a serious issue..
  21. i remember a hurricane josephine from 1984 it turned away at the last minute to avoid nyc..
