  1. I'm now fully vaccinated and I believe it's the right thing to do. These vaccinations are very successful, do not provide serious side effects(for example I had a worse reaction to the flu vaccine in 2019 than I had to my second dose of the covid vaccine), and they bring us to a place where we don't need distancing and masks. If anyone is having doubts or concerns about the vaccine please feel free to reach out to me, I can help answer some of the concerns or doubts you have and hopefully show you that it is the right thing to do. I don't believe vaccines should be mandatory, I believe a vaccination campaign is much more effective if people arrive at the decision on their own. I do believe that a country may require a vaccine for international travelers, like countries currently do with yellow fever etc. I'm looking forward to spending time with friends and with my father who is immunocompromised without the anxiety of spreading this to him. Life will get back to normal and it will be sooner rather than later. We can overcome this and the world will be a better place because of it.
  2. I'm up in Waunakee now and we've only gotten sprinkles so far
  3. need some rain here. gotten nothing from this system so far
  4. Gonna make a solid run at 80 here, would be the earliest since 2012 and about 3-4 weeks ahead of average.
  5. Nice mild/warm spring so far. Need some rain though, the thunderstorms have missed us the past 2 days.
  6. There should be a rule that for every post in the Covid thread, you have to make 2 in an actual weather discussion
  7. Yeah I think people need to be careful with saying that these new variants are more dangerous for younger people. I think they are just taking up a higher percentage of hospitalizations since older people are vaccinated and aren’t getting sick
  8. Some feisty storms crossing the Mississippi. Really taking advantage of the steep mid level lapse rates despite the meager surface moisture
  9. Amazingly this has been the most civil one out of all of the other subforums.
  10. Finished 5 degrees above normal here. 12th warmest March on record here.
  11. getting some flurries here with the passing convective showers today
  12. surprised no one is talking about the lake effect snow potential in Indiana tomorrow
  13. It's been a sneaky warm March here. 10th warmest March 1-25 here in Madison. Should end the month 4+ degrees above average.
  14. After the turn of the month it looks to turn mild with chances of rain, no real cold shots in sight after next Wednesday/Thursday
  15. and of course after I post last night things trend toward a whiff SE here. Will be lucky to get any precip with this
  16. Models have been hit or miss giving us snow with the storm. But if the column cools enough the dynamics of the system should allow for rates heavy enough to accumulate nicely. Sneaky chance at some snow cover when we wake up Friday morning
  17. reading into the medium range tea leaves, this weekend looks like it will be warmer than previously expected, the mild conditions will remain until mid week, until a brief cool shot arrives late next week and then above average temps flood the area starting easter weekend
  18. got .72" of rain yesterday and overnight. With a tenth or two today this should stave off any looming drought for a week or so but would be nice to get a couple more rain chances over the next week.
  19. good news is the 18z flipped completely away from it, with highs staying in the 50s in the extended
  20. good news is that most signals are for April temps to be above average regionwide, especially the first half of the month. Still can't rule out cool shots but looking better than the past few Aprils
  21. You’re right. I had misunderstood what had happened and made an argument based on it But my point still stands, calling the virus that does nothing but inflame things
  22. https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-us-canada-56218684 Please read some articles like this and let me know what you think. After you read a few like this you can see how terms like that can lead to racism and hate crimes
  23. Glad to see you learn and grow from your past actions. Maybe one day you’ll have an intelligent response
  24. Language like this leads to violence against minorities like you saw in Georgia. If you have any decency you should stop using it
