  1. the back edge seems to be making good progress through Iowa. thinking this may be one where the accumulating snows end earlier than expected

  6. core of the coldest air seems to be centered around next Tuesday. highs will struggle to reach freezing. Moderation should occur into the latter half of next week
  7. 18Z NAMs cutting snow totals by over 50%, 24 hours before the start of the event. A tradition unlike any other
  8. 12Z GFS continues to nudge southward. Going with a first and final call of 4.8" here
  9. the timing on this is moving up. What looked like a completely overnight event west of Lake Michigan now looks like it will be begin early Thursday afternoon
  10. 0Z GFS is definitely wagons south. Gets solid snow down to the I80 corridor. Also much more realistic with QPF, cuts precip totals in half
  11. A cool mid month pattern looks to kick off with a significant snowstorm. GFS putting up laughable totals north of the Wisconsin/Illinois border but regardless this looks like it will require advisories/warnings.
  12. Getting a mix of rain and snow here. Temps are 35 so nothing sticking
  13. For February in Madison: 23rd warmest on record, 6th wettest on record. Snow ended up slightly below average at 11" For winter as a whole: 15th warmest on record, 13th wettest on record. Snow was slightly above average at 40.4". (Since 2000 we've had 6 of the 20 warmest winters here, while during the same time we've only had 1 of the coldest 20 winters- 2013/14) Milwaukee had their 14th warmest February and 5th warmest winter on record. In terms of precip they had their 2nd wettest February and 10th wettest winter.
