After this heat wave, looks like the cooler drier air may come in as kind of a whimper. Some thunderstorm activity but not widespread and severe as you might expect from breaking a heat wave.
Maybe others were having the same problem and that is why no response. Sorry about that, I am not a tech wizard so I'm not sure how to fix it. For some reason it opens for me so I thought all could see it. The picture you show is a good airial shot.
Latest temps I see from around the area are.
Newark and LaGuardia the highest at 96 and 95.
Farmingdale and Sussex Airport and Kennedy 90
Trenton and White Plains 91
Central Park 92
Thanks for responding Bluewave. I posted the picture because it is the most recent picture I have seen. (January 2020) I agree that it is a winter picture which is unfortunate because it is the summer foliage that is the problem. What did you mean "it won't open".
Channel 7 just had the first African American that will be leading the USDA Forest Service in the United States and the big conversation was the fires out west. I was so glad to here him emphasize forest management as something that has to happen out there. He also said there have been some 4000 fires and most are quickly taken care of by the fire fighters but there are a few like the Dixie fire that get out of hand.
I posted this picture of the Central Park weather station from January of 2020. So it is fairly recent. There has been a lot of talk about the growth around where the station is located. I am just a little surprised that nobody commented on the picture. I guess it is pretty much what people expected.
Funny you say that because the same thing here yesterday. There was plenty of blue sky and sun when the lightning was flashing and the rain falling. There was one long ominous looking cloud and some darker clouds to the north. Almost reminded me what happens in Florida sometimes.
