Almost had some rain here but again it just died and moved near me but not over me. I shouldn't lie, I may have gotten enough rain to make the car tops a little wet.

77 my low, now 84. I don't think I would enjoy living in places like Arizona. I like rain once in a while.

I have had a total of 15, 90 plus degree days.

Since June 3rd I have had 3.35 inches of rain. Since July 1 there has been 1.22 inches of rain here.

True, I have not mowed the front lawn in weeks. Just some edging. What is amazing is how some of the weeds can still grow out of the cracks in driveways and roads.

Death Valley just got a record 1.46 inches of rain. Even they are getting more than most of us.

There has not been to many long stretches of dry and actually boring weather like what were having, in recent years. When I say boring, at least in my area. It is getting pretty frustrating watching the rain continue to miss certain areas.

It has been unusual this summer in that the heat over much of New Jersey has been, at times, worse than in the D.C. area.

Checked the NWS listing of weather reporting stations in our area and all were anywhere from 1.4 to 3.2 above normal. The exception was in the eastern Jersey area with Harrison 3.7 and Newark 4.4.

For July I averaged 77.9 with a high of 98.7 and a low of 57.7

To me the hurricane season doesn't really get going until August, so I would not say it is dead when it is only July. Maybe folks think it is dead because in recent years storms are named in May, June and July and many of them are barely storms and never would have been named in the past.

86 the high here but very humid. Storms seem to be weakening as they head east. last night .18 inch of rain.

The cooler temps this morning are not lasting to long, I am already up to 70.

Quite a range of temperatures this morning with 50s in much of the Hudson Valley and closer to 70 in the city.

So the 5 straight days of 100 actually tied the record. The 98.6 pretty much in line with past heat waves.

There also seems to be a more wide spread list of 100 degrees readings in 1977 and the 2022 list seems to be just the eastern N.J. area around Newark.
