  1. Currently D.C. 89 Baltimore 91 Philly 91 Hartford 90 Central Park 88 Newark 98
  2. Yes most of the area was very close to normal, the exception Newark which is about 1.6 degrees above normal.
  3. I don't think Newark temperatures are wrong. I think they just represent the densely populated NYC and immediate surrounding areas like Newark that are full of concrete and chemical plants and tons of traffic etc. Central Park is also not wrong, it represents temperatures in parks even if there in NYC. I think we can add Newark and Central Park and divide by 2. That may represent most of the area.
  4. It just depends how you look at it. You could have the highest temperature of all time but if first was reached 6 different years, you would then be the 7th highest year even though you would have the second highest actual temperature.
  5. Down to a pleasant 60 degrees this morning.
  6. Temperatures at LaGuardia, kennedy, Islip, Bridgeport, Caldwell, Central Park all pretty much normal so far this month. They are either less than a degree above or below normal. The only outlier is Newark which is 2 degrees above normal.
  7. Clouds have finally moved in here.
  8. Temperature went nowhere since this morning, actually dropped a degree or two, 67 now. Going to be a very chilly night.
  9. I think what happens is before the frontal passage the wind is more off the water, the front moves thru, the wind switches to more northerly and you get the warm flow off the land.
  10. Cooler air slowly moving in, 68 degrees here.
  11. Heavy rain weakened as it approached Long Island, .14 of an inch of rain here.
  12. Crazy, hit and miss showers. I have gotten an inch of rain in the past week.
  13. The Newark area seems to be the hottest place in the summer for the NY metro area, maybe parts of the city can be as hot. As for Newark, no surprise with all the concrete, industrial facilities and missing out on the sea breeze.
  14. 84 the high here, felt a little uncomfortable. Looks like fathers day weekend will be pleasant to even cool at night and dry.
  15. 85 degree high here today, didn't expect that.
  16. Another thing you can add to what you mention, is, we name storms now that would not have been named in the past.
  17. Looks like lots of rain for south Florida but probably not much wind. We shall see. Surprised about putting up tropica storm warnings before there is a tropical storm but I quess they want to cover themselves.
  18. Picked up .60 inch of rain in about 25 minutes, similar to last night without the thunder and lightning.
  19. .93 inch of rain from last nights storms.
  20. Just picked up .60 inch of rain in a half hour.
  21. Getting some good thunder and lightning here, only .13 inch of rain so far.
  22. 95 yesterday, currently rain and 59 degrees
