  1. Currently clear skies, snowpack and lite winds. Temperature down 7 degrees from the high, falling fast at 25 degrees.
  2. The closer we get to Monday night Tuesday arctic blast, the NWS keeps lowering the temps. May not get out of the teens on Tuesday. Not warming up to fast this morning either.
  3. The areas of black top and concrete must still be fairly mild in temperature as they seem to have about half of what is on car tops and grass.
  4. Both car tops 8 inches, other areas as low as 6 as high as 8, so I will say 7.5 inches here. Nassau never got changed to a winter storm warning as far as I know.
  5. Looks like a true arctic blast could come in around Tuesday of next week.
  6. I'm sure getting a lot more rain than expected this morning. Approaching a quarter inch and still raining.
  7. I believe at this point just watching how the models are playing out is all you can do. Trying to figure potential snow totals is basically guessing, but it can be fun and an interesting challenge.
  8. The Euro shows a low in Mississippi moving off Delaware and pretty strong, the GFS not on board, shows a weak low that develops way offshore.
  9. Heavy overcast here, looks like it could snow at any minute. Looks like heavy snow about 20 miles south of Long Island.
  10. Hurricane force wind warning off the coast of Virginia.
  11. For you snow lovers in the D.C. area, I hope you get a good dumping. You have gotten the shaft the last few years.
  12. For the snow lovers in the D.C. area, I am glad they are in for a good snowfall. They have missed most of the action on the east coast, the last few years.
  13. Temperatures as low as about -50 degrees in Alaska. They have had a cold winter so far, although they have had some brief warm ups.
  14. Quite a snow event just to our south. Areas not to far from us will possibly get double digit amounts. Some models even have our southern and coastal areas getting as much as 2-4 inches. Should be interesting to watch in such a non event winter so far.
