  1. 1.70 inches of rain here and still raining, over an inch in the past hour.
  2. Looking at the previous 6 years before the last 2, we were overdue for what we had the last 2 years.
  3. Maybe the mild night time temperatures this summer made the mosquito problem worse.
  4. What is also interesting about the last 2 seasons is last season ended up with the 4.8 inches meaning no snow in November or March. 2018-19 ended up with over 20 inches with big totals in November and March.
  5. Very summer like afternoon here, 84 degrees.
  6. Central Park +2.1. Looks like some cooler weather coming in later this week.
  7. Another pleasant morning here with low 60s, however very damp.
  8. Definitely feel the season gradually changing. Actually a cool feel to the air at 73 degrees. The consistent days of high 80s have been replaced with high 70s to about 80. Night time lows closer to 60 than 70 and my pool temp. has dropped some 10 degrees.
  9. 62 here this morning, 3 pleasant early mornings in a row.
  10. 59 degrees for a low here this morning.
  11. Yea it is comfortable. 81 degrees here with 47% humidity and north breeze.
  12. Yea, and I am some 8 miles from the ocean and we have plenty of burned foliage.
  13. We had it yesterday morning with .44 of an inch. This morning light rain and drizzle.
  14. If the GFS is saying 7.5 degrees above normal for the next 8 days, I don't believe it.
  15. I think the worst of the heat is over but still there will be 80s. Sunday night some of our colder places could see 40s.
  16. Even though most New Yorkers would love to see that day, I am confident we will have forms of energy that give off no pollution what so ever, long before the 100 years is up. Even if I am wrong, we won't destroy the earth, we might destroy ourselves, but not the earth. Anyway, all the possibilities with the potential Laura interaction turned out to be not much. So far here, .11 inch of rain today.
  17. I can see it now, southerners will move north to be in the pleasant Northeast climate.
  18. Looks like the first week of September will have temps up and down to average about normal. Looks like the second week may bring in a more consistent cool down making the first have of the month a little below normal. Wouldn't that be a change if it plays out.
  19. That would be interesting if it materialized. To bad it's 12 days out, so basically it means nothing.
  20. The Gulf was ripe for intensification with temps in the low 90s. Laura was interacting with land until it entered the Gulf making the rapid intensification very possible and obviously it happened. I was surprised how well it held together with all the land interaction, which really was a sign it could explode when it hit those warm Gulf waters.
