  1. Getting some light rain here, but radar has the look of a thirsty Blue Ridge.
  2. That line is right on my doorstep. Breeze picking up.
  3. Imo, this pattern is as anomalous as the 09/10 HECS pattern we had. We’ve had stretches of low dews in previous summers, but this is remarkable stuff. The condensation on my beverages has been mostly non-existent all season lol.
  4. I'll take humidity, a southerly breeze component, less wildfire smoke, and no drought.
  5. If the GFS and Euro are correct, it might be unsettled all week next week. I actually don't mind this type of setup, though. Cutoff lows to the northeast are a no-go, but this one (per LWX) would involve the GOM, so we might actually get productive precip out of it (TBD).
  6. I get why people would want cooler weather in the summer, but it seems to involve a drier pattern, at least so far. We need higher PWATS and afternoon storms. This nickel and dime stuff is only going to take us so far. I personally would like to see a return to a more normal summer pattern. I don't even think I've had a single thunderstorm yet this year...certainly not a flush hit.
  7. I endorse the comments regarding the beautiful weather today. It’s milder with a little less wind than I expected…and that’s exactly what I was hoping for.
  8. Up to 0.4”+ at the surrounding weather stations. Should be able to get to 1/2” total by eod.
  9. Around 0.15” here so far, but currently under a puddle producing healthier band. Should get mby to 0.25”+.
  10. Fairly light here in Frederick so far, but the ground is wet and I do like my spot for getting in on actual decent precip. I see some yellows incoming…hoping they hold.
  11. The patches of brown grass is really showing here. It might be at least 50/50 brown/green at this point. We need to get into a thunderstorm pattern or at least find a way to get an upper level low to track further south. This is the same general issue we faced all winter lol.
  12. Getting the light soaking rain is nice, but I'd like to see a downpour or two with the cells moving through later. That's what's really needed to clean up this pollen/dust and everything else that's gathered since the drought pattern began.
  13. Makes sense. Yea, I was gonna say earlier that I think most of our summer rain is from shortwaves or frontal passage swinging through with a return flow or sticky airmass in place. We’ve definitely been missing the latter, for whatever reason. Even today doesn’t feel all that humid…certainly a little less than I expected.
  14. Not really sure if that's new smoke or just the increasing humidity creating more haze with whatever residual stuff is there. Whatever the case, we need a more active southern stream...like asap.
  15. I can feel the slight uptick in humidity and, I must say, it feels pretty amazing. Any chance we can follow this up with a Bermuda High?
  16. It’s still pretty dry outside today and, of course, there’s a breeze because that’s what we do now. This pattern just does not want to allow much in the way of any flow from the south. Maybe tomorrow and Monday will feel more like summer, regardless of precip. .
  17. Someway, somehow…a brief rain shower has moved through here.
  18. Hasn’t felt too warm, but the lack of a subtropical jet has kept things crunchy. Looking forward to Sunday’s weather…warm with a nice southerly flow in the air.
  19. Getting a storm split here with nothing, but light stuff. Looks like a good one just to my west. Onto Monday I guess lol
  20. Smoke is clearing; clouds are returning. When that upper level low moves out of New England it’ll be cause for a celebration.
  21. It’s still bone dry outside for this time of year with this nw breeze that’s straight out of the drought factory. Most boring stretch of weather in years.
  22. I don’t really smell smoke…to me it’s been more like a musty chlorine scent. It’s still stupid, though.
  23. That too lol. I’m ready to sign onto any system that includes a southerly wind component.
  24. I might need to add Omega Blocks to my list of meh. It already includes dry slots, sleet, GL lows, and unfavorable La Nina’s.
