  1. I never really considered Rodgers a bad dude...maybe I've missed some of the news about him. Kevin Porter Jr., on the other hand, is not a good dude. Talk about throwing a career away. He recently signed a contract, too...which will likely get voided assuming the NBA's investigation confirms the reports.
  2. Pretty good illustration of the rain shadow effect on the eastern side of the Catoctins with precip forming as it nears the next round of hills to the east. I'm over-simplifying, but it is interesting how the change of winds can impact precip chances (for better or worse) for those right along the Blue Ridge. The Shenandoah Valley and maybe some areas further north catch a rain shadow from both the Appalachians to the west and Blue Ridge to the east. Models not taking downsloping into account is probably one of the reasons why so many busted forecasts occurred back in the day, especially with clippers.
  3. Stephens City knows lol. I was always a jump shooter (especially in high school), but the last 2 years I've been working on my handles...the humidity especially comes in handy with the two-ball work inspired in part by Curry's pregame routine. Weather... I thought today would have better rain coverage. Onto Tuesday, I guess.
  4. Not much aside from scattered light rain here today and that was earlier, though I will like to say that this is near perfect basketball weather…calm wind, humidity, mostly cloudy. If ya know, ya know. Looks like Tuesday afternoon/evening is the next best chance for storms.
  5. 4th day in a row of precip with some stat padding light rain in progress.
  6. Looks like 0.5-0.75" around my area for the day, not including what I think was about 0.1" overnight. Not winning any contests, but it's been a productive last few days in the precip department.
  7. I think this is the first time all season…maybe even all year…that I’m getting what appears to be a train of precip. I’m sure it’ll rain itself out, but this is a good soaker in progress. Little bit of thunder mixed in as well.
  8. Healthy gust front here. Not sure if that’ll help or hurt, but I’ll be finding out shortly.
  9. Yesterday gets a pass, but I prob only got about 0.2” total. Still seems like the rich are getting richer, but hoping to cash in by this evening assuming there’s enough instability leftover (the trough moving further east should help).
  10. Today seems fairly prime for storms. Loving the upslope potential for “team drought”. Sun has broken out in Frederick…warming up quickly. Looks like it’ll be a little “cooler” today, but 80s and humid can get it done.
  11. Looks like another round to watch for later. This setup is so prime…sun during the day, storms by late afternoon/early evening. I’m all in.
  12. I never count on the tropics up this way, but we could certainly use it.
  13. I love it lol. Being that I'm right up against the base of the Catoctins...I'm all in on this upslope situation. MIcroclimates might be underrated in this region.
  14. You did well yesterday, though. This is an ideal h5 setup. I don’t even get paid for this and can tell from the 500mb map that this is astronomically better than a nw flow. By Thursday, I’ll be ok with a nw flow, but for now I want storms, not a dry wind.
  15. Latest GFS/Euro both have 1"+ by Monday. It won't solve the drought, but it'll help. Looks like humidity can be expected until Autumn arrives next Thursday...with Lee somewhere off the coast.
  16. Radar looks healthy…along with the humidity/pwat. This seems like a deeper trough than what we’ve dealt with most of the summer. Getting a nice sw flow. It’ll always be hit/miss, but I like the setup at least.
  17. Looks like some breaks in the clouds incoming. Hopefully, that can help spark another round of storms later.
  18. Can actually see some faint lightning with those storms out towards the panhandle of western md.
  19. That literally might have been the bolt I saw because I've got a pretty wide view looking s/sw. I think I'm gonna fringed by this one, but I'm definitely hearing it.
  20. Just looked out my window and saw a huge bolt in the distance. Fun weather day.
  21. Confirmation bias, etc. aside, gotta wonder how much of this is a coincidence or it just illustrates how some of the little microclimates around here score/suffer together lol. Meanwhlie, just heard thunder again.
  22. Yea, this was a flush hit…finally. No hail here, though, at least that I could tell.
  23. Starting to wind down, but that was unquestionably the storm of the season for me. Wind was kind of pedestrian (typically that’s localized microburst stuff anyway), but not lame. The rain fell in sheets and I probably counted 4 or 5 legit Florida-style cg strikes with a couple others that were very close. Still hearing a lot of thunder as the storm lifts nne.
  24. Helluva storm incoming. Violent lightning.
