I’m just glad it’s been a wetter year so far. Spring ‘24 vs ‘23 are like two different climates. Rode over at the ‘shed yesterday and had gnats flying in my face. Felt like old times.
Bullish low humidity forecast for next next week from LWX...
Behind this wave, dew points will fall into 40s come next Thursday
with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. This may be the least humid
day until September across the area.
Cool around here usually includes abundant cloud cover, at least in this current regime...I hope that's not the case. We've been doing exceptionally well with sunshine when temps are above 75-80. I'd like to lock that in for a few months.
We’ve had a lot of cooler than expected tho lol. The issue is we haven’t had much in between. Our winters follow that type of variance, too. Last year we had a lot of 70s, but it was accompanied by wildfire smoke…which I’ll pass on.
Love to see this wording from LWX...
The front will
stall to the north across Pennsylvania keeping the local area in
a warm and humid air mass through early next week.
I have no issues with 80, partly sunny and storm chances. It’s the low clouds that take until an hour before sunset to break up along with 55-60 degree temps that can I do without. I’m hoping we’ve graduated from that pattern.
The precip has been mostly south of Frederick since this morning. I’m ready to transition into nice weather with mid level cumulus clouds and late afternoon/early evening thunderstorm chances instead of daytime stratus cloud decks.
We might just be dealing with a "May showers bring June flowers" type of a situation. If my memory serves, April had more sunny days overall to this point.
I like these occasional days especially if I was able to get out and about while it was nice. What’s annoying is the frequency. We had a long duration, gray, overcast period several years back in May. This isn’t like that, but it’s not ideal. I’d rather get our precip via thunderstorms that last 45 mins and are surrounded by mostly sunny conditions.
To avoid wildfire smoke, we need the southerly flow to win out. No omega or Rex blocks, please. Hopefully, we can get a Bermuda High to establish itself. Been a while since we had a good ol’ fashioned, swampy summer.
