  1. Was gonna say how I'm surprised we're getting cooler weather and sunshine...and then I looked at the satellite loop.
  2. You ain’t lying. I’d like to see a solid winter. We’re due, but we sure aren’t in a great pattern for storms rn. The monthly enso ppt shows nina kicking in now basically through winter.
  3. Heck of a cloud deck here…my least favorite part of being next to the Catoctin’s. Looks like further east is in the downsloping sunshine.
  4. Commanders are in a good spot, but the Daniels is a different style of runner/scrambler than Lamar. The former being a north/south runner, the latter being a shifty, QB/RB combo who can break tackles. I'd like to see the WC's add another receiver into the mix and certainly another playmaker in the secondary. Overall, that was a good measuring stick loss to a SB contender.
  5. Yea, it seems like we've had basically no southern stream for a couple years now. We're just getting scraps from systems to the north and the south.
  6. The GL to the Appalachians cloud factory has started to ramp up again. I like this weather a lot more when it’s sunny, but satellite imagery isn’t very inspiring atm. Extended forecast does look nice, though.
  7. Absolutely loving this stretch of weather, though talk about a wavy pattern. 2 weeks of stratus decks and vitamin-loaded humidity followed by dry, nw breeze and sunshine. I've been ramping up my biking recently (kinda slacked on that over the summer while I was taking a class and playing more hoops) and noticed how quickly the trails have started to dry up again (at least Little Bennett). At some point, we'll probably need a real gully washer or two, though for now I'm embracing the current wave.
  8. Spotty blue skies up here to start the day in Frederick. Need to go into Columbia today…hoping the weather is similar.
  9. Well, they were cookin’ with based loaded and nobody out until they popped it up and then swung at chin music.
  10. Add in sunshine and we have a deal.
  11. The batches of light rain/mist have been fairly productive here. That said, I’m officially ready for a pattern change.
  12. Fairly dry in Columbia. Light rain/sprinkles and puddles in Frederick.
  13. Around 2" over the past 5 days in my vicinity (primarily over the Catoctins), but you can definitely see the screw zone towards the Bay and east. There is another pocket along the DC/Bmore corridor that appears to have jackpot as well. The bigger totals have been further west and south closer to Front Royal.
  14. I’ve decided to start making lemonade…biked over at Little Bennett today. Damp with a few puddles, but otherwise rideable. This weather is getting played out, but Mother Nature is gonna continue to do what she wants. Looks like drier weather by midweek.
  15. True...I think they were also a cause of many forecast busts back in the day. However, they're also a product of a jet stream that dips far enough south in the winter to bring sustained cold, something that's been lacking for several years now.
  16. There’s a legit swarm of them outside of where I work in Columbia. I’ve seen them on my balcony in Frederick, too. It is what it is. I read an article recently that implied they’re overhyped and that they’ve become meals for other animals such as birds, etc.
  17. Ended up hiking a trail at the ‘shed this morning…light rain most of the time even though it wasn’t showing up much on radar. Trail was definitely damp/soggy. Partly sunny here now…I’ll take it before the next round of clouds and ULL swings thru.
  18. The clearing is taking its sweet time coming north, that’s for sure. The overall pattern has been kinda weird for 2 years now with a not so ideal cloud to precip ratio. Overall, it seems like the storm tracks are still too far north with a lack of clippers being the primary hint.
  19. Idk but there’s a helluva dry slot on wv imagery rn. Tomorrow might end up being a beautiful day.
  20. Pleasant here. I’m assuming about a 5mph wind. Was hoping for some quality remnants, but it jogged too far west. I do see some showers to the south, so maybe those will mix some breeze down.
  21. Are they ok? I’m kidding, but what an underwhelming event here. Maybe as the upper level low lollygags east we can get some storms.
