Well I wouldn’t classify it as cold lol, but I’ve started to hit pause on sunny forecasts when there’s a lp to the north in a nw flow. There’s been so many busted sunshine forecasts in those setups I can’t even keep track anymore. Numerous times LWX has had to adjust their forecast to partly sunny/mostly cloudy. It seems the best way to beat that is temps above 80 and increased humidity through the layers…that tends to get us away from those low and mid level stratus cloud decks.

I'm hyped. Hopefully, that means less clouds and breeze. I want it to feel like summer, not fall.

Clearing has commenced. The current temps are why I love summer…even with a low meandering to the north, once the clouds break, we get the late spring/summer vibe.

That mostly sunny forecast is off to a choppy start here in Frederick, succumbing to the NW flow aka the mid-Atlantic, cloud-producing machine. Hopefully, this afternoon can redeem itself.

This latest line is producing downpours...some thunder involved. Very little wind. This one might be fun for the 270/moco/hoco crew.

Just got a drenching rain here. I'm telling you...Frederick went from drought magnet to precip magnet this year. Kinda didn't want it because now the courts are soaked lol.

You like shorter days? That's probably my least favorite part of our earth's tilt lol.

Last weekend was warm, but aside from our winters that basically don't exist anymore, the overall pattern the last few years has been devoid of any real heat. The last couple days have been beautiful, but the dominant base state seems to be more clouds than sun with more precip than not. To each his own how you view that. Hopefully, we can at least cash in on some storms this upcoming week.

Another downpour here…nothing severe…pretty much just rain and a few rumbles. With that said, I’m now formally declaring the end to the drought in Frederick. We’re good for now.

Got a little cell that just moved through here (wfh today) and the sun is back out. There does seem to be potential with that next batch (looks like it might focus more towards the 270 magnet). TBD

Yea, I'm done with clouds for a while. Unfortunately, we're dealing with yet another pesky upper level, GL low. Satellite imagery is a little more spotty than the stratus we had for days at a time the last couple months, so hopefully we can salvage partly sunny skies this afternoon (in between these little vort spokes).

We do pretty well in general with 80+ temps, humidity and afternoon/evening storms. It’s not a whole lot different than what Florida experiences, though they get the sea breeze effects on both sides whereas I guess we usually need a vort to add lift.

What's funny is I left work in Columbia today, sun shining, and some sprinkles...then I got to Frederick, sun shining, and rain. These are very productive clouds lol.

Last year was a dud up here, but so far this year Frederick has been kind of a magnet. That was an aggressive little cell that just came through.

Getting rocked here. Not a lot of T&L, but wind driven torrents. Probably the heaviest burst of rain I've seen this year.
