  1. Looks good Bo, I only have about 8" otg we lost all of ours from the torch last week, still snowing pretty good with this frontal passage enhancing the LES, but will probably wane as the afternoon progresses and the winds keep veering more NNW.
  2. Picked up about 4" overnight, may get another 1-2 today, still need a lot more to even think about firing up the sleds.....
  3. Yea gonna be a few weeks at least, the past few years we have had decent starts to the season with a torch towards xmas hopefully this year we can get some consistent cold/LES towards end of December into Jan
  4. Nice! We have been on the outskirts of the storms and LES the past week or so, all the moisture and 850 flow has been not ideal for my area, but still around 28" for the year so far. Just a matter of time until we get our first real LES blast of the year.
  5. Looks pretty active the next couple weeks, may finally get a good blast or two of LES.
  6. Oh yea, elevation is king, just wait when you actually get your first true LES blast with a 40-60" event should be anytime now for your area. My biggest events I would be lucky to hit 25-30" your area can double that if the conditions are right.
  7. Nice Glad the tug is treating you well, sure different then Western Michigan eh?
  8. Im around 24" for the year so far, I wonder where the 69.9" is somewhere in the keweemaw?
  9. Pattern looks okay, although it is still pretty early in the season especially my area for sustained LES/cold. Usually last week of November through end of Jan is peak for my area before Lake Mich starts to freeze over, probably wont happen this year if the foretasted El-Nino does sustain itself. But either way been a great start to the season but waking up to a temps in the single digits this morning was a little rough!
  10. Added another 8" today so far, still snowing, have about 12-14" otg right now, still haven't shoveled or snowblowed yet. I was hoping it would melt but don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.
  11. Picked up about a foot of LES since last Thursday. Looks and feels more like late December than Mid November right now.
  12. Picked up about an inch so far since last night, still had a couple inches on the ground from some LES on Wednesday night. Wouldn't be surprised to see areas around me with 12"+ by Sunday with LES included.
  13. Looks like most of Mich will see some snow the couple days.
  14. Picked up about 2" of snow/sleet last night, roads were pretty slick this morning. Looks like first shot of some synoptic snow Tomorrow-Sat, 3-6" then some LES afterwards.
  15. Euro is telling Bo, better get the snowblower gassed up...
  16. Yea, the Euro is pretty bullish the next 240 hours, painting 12" for my area and over 2' for the UP snowbelts. Still not ready, go t my leafs done today, will be working to swap my tractor over to winter mode this weekend.
  17. Mine oddly enough would be the same as Buffalo weather for my number 1, November 2014, Picked up about 40" of LES in 48 hours, 18" of that came in about 6 hours. Was roof raking before Thanksgiving that year. Oddly enough rest of winter was not even average for snowfall.
  18. Yes, its all about elevation 1400'+ and location in a couple wind directions we get "help" from Lake Superior that helps intensify our LES over Lake Michigan. There is about a 50-70 sq mile area that will average 50"+ more per year then anywhere else in Northern Lower. My house is near the center of the high snowbelt area, but yes soon as you drive past Gaylord it is night and day difference even through the UP until you get north of M28.
  19. Yea, that is why i was wondering what the ENSO state was for that winter, my area had close to 200". Last few years have been average at best for the Northern Mi snowbelts. One of these years we will get another good LES hit.
  20. Does anyone remember what was the enso state for 2008-2009 Winter season?
  21. It's that time again to fire up the LES Season thread for the Great Lakes area. Although last year I would rate as just average especially for Northern Michigan, hopefully this year we all cash in. Tonight through tomorrow looks like a few areas may pick a a few inches before it melts, this coming weekend may bring another round of more widespread LES. Lets pile it up!!
  22. Weather hasn't cooperated this year for getting good pictures during peak color, so these were taken today which is a little past peak for best color. But first weekend without rain. I was able to get my first leaf clean up which was nice.
