  1. New Bern had 14 inches in 1989. Whatever moron at the airport who took that measurement of 8 inches was HIGH. I measured 14 inches in several parts of my yard. I lived over by Merchants in Brices Creek.
  2. It's because on a cellphone you cannot see ones location u have to view their profile. On a laptop it shows location. This is NC, SC, GA, VA
  3. I loved that storm because I was in the 12 inch zone! But I certainly don't want that set up now! Lol
  4. This system seems so close to the big down east storms I grew up with...I am trying to remain calm. Dang we always find away to screw this up!
  5. Skip Waters was an iconic meteorologist for WCTI in New Bern. RIP!
  6. I think it was 2018 but RDU went almost 5 straight days without getting above freezing. Maybe 4 days
  7. I wonder why the outerbanks got so little? Warm air or dry slot? I thought the 80 storm was SUPER cold?? I was only 4 and lived in Wilson...I slightly remember it.
  8. Temp went from 23 to 34 in 30 minutes in fuquay Varina. Wow
  9. What is the time frame? Just wondering because this dry slot is lasting an eternity
  10. Not sure this is a bust. But enjoyed this last sleet explosion...everything is white..20 degrees. I am happy
  11. Hvy sleet fuquay varina...already covering everything. Grill is solid ice. 21.6 degrees
  12. I always he when people say Raleigh...because in weather terms that is always RDU (the airport) that is a world away from most of us.
  13. I hope you are right and I eat crow! I know the strength of the wedge could be under modeled...but again...there are a lot of people on this board that live further south
  14. I am here because I love winter weather. However....this might (and I hope I am wrong) could be the biggest bust of all time. We live in Wake Co....it amazes me how nobody talks about Fayetteville south into the Pee Dee region. Look at what the models showed just yesterday. I believe this event is crucial for the reputation of meteorologist. You know just by reading social media the reputation is already bad.
  15. Very true...but the past 8 years say we should!
  16. Yeah...I bet wildre was right nearly 200% of the time
  17. I remember him...I have been on this board since the early 2000's...I lost that account because of email accounts. I am just saying popular long time posters are constantly negative after every model especially the EURo..but it seems ok for them to be negative.
  18. Living in SE Wake co we ALWAYS point out the worst case! Been screwed too many times
