Looks like we're getting some form of icy precip in Germantown now. Not sure if it's sleet or ZR but the top of my car looks like it's icing, looking from the window.
Its funny, after how badly the Euro whiffed the last 3 storms, even day of, I haven't even looked at the Euro and have only looked at the NAM, figuring I wasn't getting anything.
Radar looks pretty close to me in Germantown though.
Just curious - when did the NAM suddenly become Mr No? This season the NAM has been all about dashing hopes, and it's for the most part been right.
Lately it feels like the NAM and the Euro have switched places lol, with the Euro giving us these mega events 36 hours out and the NAM saying "naaa"
You know, even though we haven’t had any big hits and have had to fight for every inch, this winter has been pretty good in my back yard for keeping snowcover on the ground. There is still some ice that hasn’t melted from the Jan 30 storm, and the ground is still entirely covered in snow here.
I got 3 inches of sleet my first or second year here - 2017ish? That was one of the most memorable storms I’ve ever been in.
a car tried backing over it like it was snow and got stuck lol.
Approaching 1" in Germantown and everything has caved. Roads and sidewalks are ice.
It's like, 75% graupel/rime, 25% snow flakes. Definitely an interesting mix.
Honestly, this talk about how the models will always pull back from the big snow run that we seem to always get 72 hours out this year kind of agrees with something Ji said a storm or two ago:
"Which model run will be right? The one that gives us the least snow."
LOL. For all of Ji's problems, that was a word of wisdom there that has turned out to be quite correct lately.
NAM wins again (possibly, let’s see) and the third time this winter Lucy has pulled her football.
At least this time I was prepared. Another 3-4 inches over 48 hours, I’m not gonna complain, at least it’s been nice to always have something on the ground.
